Zection8 is a diverse group of artists brought together through a mutual respect for one another, and a shared love of artistry in music. Singularly, their talents are undeniable...combined, they are unstoppable! Birth of a dream...
Zection 8 began as an idea in the mind of Jonathan Jason Cabrera, who would later come to be known as, "Kanyon Crow". As a youngster, Jonathan had a love for music th

at coursed through his veins. In his heart heart he knew that someday, he'd find the means to put his love and passion into something bigger than himself...something the world could bare witness to...
Jonathan held tight to his dreams, and along with a small circle of friends from his native, Bronx, New York, the small collective of Latino rhymers began to breathe life into Zection 8. This collective of friends realized early on that, life had dealt them a hand that would cause less determined individuals to fold. Falling behind, and getting caught up in their own struggles, Jonathan's crew began to fall apart, but he held fast to his goal and remained focused on achieving greatness through music. He soon found himself alone his pursuit...but, as fate would have it, young Crow found an angel in one Kristal Viruet. To fly on a Raven's Wings...
Kristal, who would later come to be known by the stage name, Aixa Raven, had been a close friend of Jonathan's since their school days. An accomplished dancer with a flair for all things Latin, and a flawless singing voice, Kristal and Jonathan rekindled there friendship through their passion for music and entertainment. Over the phone they flirted with the idea of becoming a musical duo to be reckoned with, and an open offer was made. Jonathan proposed to fly her to his new residence in Panama City, Florida whenever she was ready to pursue the dream with him. Kristal pondered the idea for months before making a life changing phone call on September 23, 2005. Confused and unsure exactly what direction her life was headed, Kristal put her trust into Jonathan, and on September 24th her flight touched down in Florida. The Road Ahead...
Kristal and Jonathan struggled for a time, all while sacrificing every penny they had in the pursuit of careers in the music industry. For months they got by on Ramen noodles, and splitting cans of Chef Boyardee ravioli, until Jonathan caught a break with a new job selling insurance. Jonathan eventually found a friend in a co worker by the name of Ashley Giles. The two hit it off immediately and have been inseparable since. On a weekend outing, Ashley and Jonathan encountered Shane Hutchinson. Ashley was immediately drawn to Shane's easy going style and vowed to get to know more of this mysterious character. As luck would have it, Jonathan and Ashley were out on the town in Fort Walton beach enjoying a few drinks, and taking in the sounds of a local band, when none other than Shane took the stage, and approached the microphone. As the room got quiet, and the lights dimmed, the first chords to a most familiar song began to play. The audience was stunned when Shane began to belt out the first notes to Prince's smash hit, "Purple Rain". Upon finishing the last note, Jonathan immediately invited Shane over to the table he and Ashley shared, for a drink and proposed the idea of inviting Shane to record as a part of Zection 8. Shane informed the duo that he was only in town visiting and had to get back to Pennsylvania the next day, and that he never thought to pursue singing as a career, but once Jonathan pitched the idea behind the music and extended his hand, as well as access his home studio, Shane pledged to give his all to the project. Enter the God of Thunder...
As the weeks and months passed Jonathan, Kristal And Shane, A.K.A Hutch Murdock, were finally on their way to building Zection 8 into a viable entity, but something was missing...With the expansion of Zection 8, the studio space seemed to be dwindling...the trio was in need of a new recording "home". After losing contact for a few years, Crow became reacquainted with a neighbor of his in Panama City, Frederick Madison, a rather accomplished writer in his own right. Seeing that Jonathan was 100% dedicated to making Zection 8 a reality, Frederick introduced Jonathan to Robert "R2B's" Thaxton, owner of Final Cut Studio's in Panama City, Florida. It was at Final Cut Where Zection 8 recorded the bulk of their debut album's content, but more importantly, it is the place where they pledged their allegiance to one another. Fred had a burning passion for spoken word poetry, and eventually found his way into the mic booth of Final Cut studio. Impressed with his dedication and sledgehammer strength of his lyricism, Jonathan began quietly analyzing Frederick, pondering whether or not to bring him into the fold. While recording a mix tape song titled "Dominance", Frederick, who had now made the transformation into, "Ruckus the Thunder God", completely blew away any apprehensions Crow may have had about Ruck's desire and lyrical prowess. With the addition of the God of Thunder, Zection 8 Was now a quartet and the saga begins...to be continued...
