We are that 1.5 generation that was born in Mexico, grew up in the United States and we are NOW back in our birth country, yet very much unknown. We are back because of deportation, the deportation of a family member or by a “semi-voluntary” decision. We use the term POCHA because it is often used to label someone that is not considered to be “Mexican” enough, for us owning the term means empoweri
ng our third identity which is the result of two cultures. Is the outcome of two lives that crossed paths in the exact time they were meant. Maggie and Leni invite you to join us in this infinite roller coaster of life in which we are discovering our identity.

He lived en Georgia por 17 años y fue deportada durante la administración de Obama siendo separado de sus hijos. Mexico wasn’t the end of his story, su lucha ha seguido para poder abrazar a su hijo. Diego es el que protesta con cada print que hace en su shop de Serigrafía Fck la Migra que fundó en la Ciudad de México.

¡Nos sumamos mañana a resistir, quien se apunta! ✊🏾La Cooperativa de Palo Alto lleva resistiendo 49 años, y mañana necesita que nos sumemos con ellxs a resistir el desalojo y venta! Nos sumamos a la lucha por y para vivienda digna, nuestros territorios y seguir luchando desde la organización comunitaria.

Mensaje oficial: “La Cooperativa Palo Alto, convoca a todas y todos ustedes, ya que es urgente su defensa; el Poder Judicial Federal esta participando en que se vendan nuestros patrimonios a pesar de que la gran mayoría de socios queremos continuar en el proceso cooperativista y en el uso y disfrute de nuestros bienes; acompáñanos este 29 de junio de 2021 a las 10:00 horas en la Cooperativa Palo Alto y participa en la resistencia y oposición pacífica, y como observador de que se respeten los derechos humanos fundamentales en la diligencia ordenada por el Juez Quinto de Distrito en Materia Civil de la Ciudad de México; también te pedimos nos apoyes difundiendo esto y pronunciándote respecto de la intervención del capitalismo, del cartel inmobiliario y del Poder Judicial Federal en contra de nuestra Cooperativa de Vivienda.”

We both found out in highschool. What our parents had kept and protected us from for so long was a reality we had to face in 2008 & 2009 during las redadas, mass deportation and the financial crisis. ✊🏾
