There has only been two times in the past eleven years that I didn’t have to work on Thanksgiving. Today, and in 2020 when I had C*v*d. There are two things that come to mind when I think of the times I worked on Thanksgiving. One of them was the love and appreciation officers on duty got from the community on this holiday, and the other is this call I responded to…

“I went 10-8 at 0645 hours. My first call of the day was a domestic.. Husband and wife verbally and physically fighting outside. Martinez and I arrive on scene... It's quite, no yelling... No one outside... We walk around the apartment parking lot to find this... Some ground turkey! So we knock on the door where the turkey evidence was and we had our husband and wife. After 30 minutes of hearing both sides, observing the house with an open oven door, clothes packed near the front door, and the turkey outside on the floor... We knew it was going to be a Happy Thanksgiving! 😂😂😂 hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!! Be safe to all my first responding brothers and sisters, & on a side note... If you're going to throw your uncooked turkey at someone... Well never mind... Don't throw your turkey at someone. 😂😂😂”

It’s been a little bit since I’ve had an update! It has officially been six months since I left law enforcement and life is good! However, my roots still reside in law enforcement which has led me to my next goal. I’ll be sharing that news hopefully in a couple weeks with you all and hope to see continued support for law enforcement.

I also wanted to reach out to everyone in regards to messages that I have received over the past few months asking for police assistance. Please contact your local law enforcement agency to assist you.

My first time trying Muay Tai. This was pretty much a killer cardio session where I learned the basics of stance, movements, punches, elbow strikes, knee strikes and kicks. Similar to academy stuff but definitely more intense! Not to mention there is no air conditioner in the gym 🥵

My feet and shins are all bruised, red and swollen, but I can’t wait to go back tomorrow! Lol this is definitely the workout I need after enjoying all this food here in Thailand!

What’s after law enforcement? Follow my YouTube to watch my journey transition from a career in law enforcement to move across the world to live in Thailand with my family! My page will ultimately focus on the transition, anything and everything law enforcement related, moving to another country, and our journey in Thailand! I plan to pick up new hobbies and maybe even a new job!

Eventually I will have a Q&A and share some battle stories. I just want to share our experience with you guys to plant that seed that nothing is impossible. Life is hard! But don’t let life stand in the way of what growth and new experiences.

Though I am grateful, I haven’t been loving my job lately. Almost ten years in law enforcement and the struggle to make the best of each day isn’t always easy. There are a billion reasons why I feel this way, and one day I’ll be able to talk about those reasons. For now, I welcome nightshift with a full cup of coffee, a desk covered in paperwork I need to finish, and a shift of officers who make days like these tolerable.
