As a mum of two small children, (5 and 2 years) I couldn't help but notice how mesmerised they have both become by the videos on You Tube showing people unwrapping and playing with children's toys. Have you seen any of these? Well for those in the dark about this new toy video phenomenon, the most famous are made by a lady with a charming Brazilian accent who calls herself The Disney Collector. Qu
ite simply, her videos showcase a pair of hands slowly unwrapping different toys.....yep that's it ...someone unwrapping toys..... and the children all love it. I must give her credit, as she has over 80 million subscribers, which is quite astonishing really! Whilst I am all for the entrepreneurial spirit and if my kids are going to watch this stuff anyway, then I would prefer them to watch a video that will teach them something....anything.... however small, just something with a valuable life lesson. I am sure that like me, many of you may suffer from "i pad guilt" and promise not to allow your children to watch you tube, but when it's in a controlled environment, under parental guidance, I do think that an occasional viewing of the right kind of video can be very beneficial to our youngsters (and gives you 10 minutes to jump in the shower.) So on a quest for educational stories for children, animated with toys, I searched online but alas found nothing with any real substance. With this in mind, and knowing that my young children ( and their friends ) go crazy for toys, I decided to write my own collection of stories using toys to animate them, and thus created Toy Stories! Each of my videos (written, filmed and edited by me), will have an educational core, touching upon important life lessons & morals, and some will follow the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum, offering children invaluable teachings about history, science, art, relationships, emotions and much more. Each story will be animated with the use of toys and a touch of humour, intrigue, imagination and music, perfect for keeping children entertained. Toy Stories will use popular and classic toys including characters from Disney movies and classic fairytales, Frozen, Barbie, Disney Princesses, Peppa Pig, Lego, Thomas & Friends, Star Wars, Le Toy Van, Sky Landers, Monster High, Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Sylvanian Families, Cbeebie and many many more. As we go through life trying to impart our worldly wisdom on our children to ensure they grow up to be likeable, kind, hard working and responsible adults, I think that there is a story to be written about each one of these important traits, and that is what is at the very heart of Toy Stories. I hope you and your children enjoy my videos.
