RIP buddy. Frits (aka FOMO Frits) is no longer with us unfortunately. He got very ill this year and we had to make the difficult choice of letting him go. He was the weirdest cat I’ve ever met and incredibly sweet. He was dealt a tough hand in terms of genes, but cuddly and gentle to the very end. His beautiful death stare was a wonderful contrast to his gentle nature. We’re going to@mias him dearly.

Here’s a new FX block trick where I’m exploring how we can use the inverted AMP envelope, the FX block sequencer and exponential LFO’s to create a realistic compression effect on the Syntakt. More than that, I show you how you can combine these techniques to create a sequenced pumping effect that’s pretty awesome compared to just your usual sidechain comp effect. Enjoy! In this first FX block trick I'm exploring creative ways to use the FX block's overdrive. It will give you a good insight into how you can go from subtle saturation, to heavy distortion.

Hello HAL, do you read me? I hope this trip to space will help you understand how the ELTA music Solar 42f can bend your mind into the 5th dimension. I knew I'd like the Solar 42 but it really clicked with me in a way I didn't expect. And I'm only scratching the surface here. And the sound.... It's seriously impressive in all aspects. The way all the voices are summed, the overdrive and fx, it's all sounding lovely. Very happy with it!

Since I bought a white Erica Synths , I temporary have two Perkons in the studio before selling the blue one to a new happy owner. So I thought I'd make use of that situation and record a raw dual Perkons Jam. And I'll be damned, It's actually really fun to dual wield these! Enjoy this 160 bpm raw live performance.

Just got this in from to create some abstract ambient pieces on youtube. I might also do a live stream where you can ask questions about it later this year. In this part of the course we'll go thoroughly through the entire creation process on the Syntakt: from creating a pattern through arranging in song mode to performing. This means we cover everything from sound design, mixing, arranging, and performance tricks plus pretty much every useful function Syntakt has to offer.The course is neatly divided into chapters and separate videos so you can easily find all the subjects you might want to revisit. On top of that you will get engaging assignments to take everything you've learned at that point and apply it to your own work.

When I sit down with Syntakt most often these hypnotic trips flow out. Syntakt is capable of great textures. The track's main element consists of a droney chord machine with another layer fading in and out. Slowly a dissonant layer enters which creates new harmonics together with the other layers.

Elektron and OTO Machines pair so well together! The layers of distortion that these two combine is great to add a lot of grit while still making it sound quite clean. Trippy techno that keeps evolving (or so it seems):

Here's the first longer video with Erica Synths I recorded. It was meant to be an in depth demonstration / tutorial but Perkons kept taking over my mind. It's very easy to get into a flow state with this thing. But I think the video will show you just that. It's a joy to play with.

Here's the third installment of the "Dawless Mastering Gear" series. In this video I check out the OTO Boum and show you in detail how I set it up including thorough A/B testing so you really can hear what it can do to your sound. Key subjects are glue compression, subtle saturation and getting peaks under control. Enjoy 🙂
