Then we'd like to invite you to become a part of DocScreen 2012. DocScreen Film Festival showcases the talents of Hackney's Young Documentary Filmmakers on the 'big screen' as part of the Discover Young Hackney Youth Arts & Culture Festival. We are looking for 13-19 year olds to send us short documentary films about your life in Hackney. Whether you’re a first-time filmmaker or a media studies stu
dent with more experience - we want your films! Now in it's third successful year there are two ways to get involved with DocScreen:
1. Make a Film From Start to Finish
You can make a doc to fit our brief either on your own or as part of a school, college or youth group (maybe even as part of your curriculum).
2. Submit a film you've already made (see if it fits our brief below). Successful submissions will be screened at a special showcase event in February 2012 as part of the Discover Young Hackney festival. F I L M B R I E F:
This year we are looking for films to fit within the following three themes:
1. The 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games: Are you involved in the celebrations in the lead up to the 2012 games taking place next Summer in Hackney or do you live near the Games site? Your film could include your own or local residents stories & views about the borough hosting the biggest sporting event in the world.
2. Your Life in Hackney: Do you have a story or an important issue you'd like to share with a bigger audience about living in Hackney? From day-to-day experiences or a reporter's view point there is lots of scope for sharing your life through a documentary.
3. The Year 2012 and What it Means to You: The Olympic & Paralympic Games make 2012 a huge year for Hackney residents - but what else will you be doing in 2012?
