Today we mourn the loss of our extremely talented camera man from “The Looking Glass”, Vlad Osherov. Vlad was a kind, warm, thoughtful person. His heart was as big as his talent. We will miss him terribly and send warm wishes to his family. We will miss you Vlad, rest in peace.

Dorothy was the screenwriter of "A Piece of Eden" starring Marc Grapey, Tyne Daly, along with Tristan Rogers, Robert Brueler, Frederic Forrest, Irma St. Paul, Marshall Efron, Andreas Katsulas and more. We honor Dorothy by carrying on her legacy, celebrating her work, her life and her family. Her love for the arts was endless, as was her talent.

A life well lived and well loved. She was incredibly talented in her acting, writing as well as her painting. Her last film, directed by her husband of 48 years, "The Looking Glass" will be re-released soon. A poignant script and performance of life imitating art. Fly high Dorothy. She had a long battle with Alzheimer's and played a woman in the throes of the disease in the 2015 film directed by her husband, John D. Hancock.

It is with heavy heart we announce that the FilmAcres family has lost one of its own. John's wife, and creative partner passed away yesterday peacefully. She was unapologetically authentic and loved by all who knew her. Here is a lovely tribute from John D Hancock: Be sure to watch the video.

"Dorothy Tristan, actress, model, screenwriter, painter, mother, and my wonderful wife of 48 years slipped away in her sleep today, in her home. She was 88 years old and waged a valiant battle with Alzheimer's for over 10 years.
I was lucky. She was something. The infamously harsh critic John Simon said of her in The New York Times, "Dorothy Tristan can make her face into a dozen different faces: beautiful, pain-riddled, childlike, wizened, otherworldly, furious, ethereal, earth-motherish -- you name it -- and even unnamable. Now she is the prototypical dowdy faculty wife, now a blazing maenad unleashed on our libido, now a goddess shooting up high above any mere man in the immensity of her love and wrath." Sounds scary, but that was in her work. In life she was a gentle soul, and my sweet darling."
