We are deeply saddened by the passing of Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo at 58. Known for his iconic finger wag and unmatched defense, Mutombo left an incredible legacy both on and off the court. As a humanitarian and NBA Global Ambassador, he impacted countless lives around the world. His contributions to the sport and his generosity to communities, especially in his native Democratic Republic of Congo, will never be forgotten. Our thoughts are with his family during this time.

MASS SHOOTING: Tragedy struck in an entertainment district of Birmingham, AL on Saturday night/Sunday Morning.
A devastating mass shooting occurred in Birmingham, Alabama, on the night of September 21, 2024, in the bustling Five Points South neighborhood.
The tragic event claimed the lives of four people and left "dozens and dozens" of people injured (over about 20), many in critical condition. Police believe multiple shooters were involved, but no arrests have been made yet. It is an ongoing investigation.
Authorities are urging business owners in the area with camera footage and anyone with information to come forward as the community mourns and searches for answers.
