Americans across all demographics are fed up with the cost of eating out and buying groceries—prices for both have significantly outpaced inflation for the past four years. Some have pulled back restaurant spending, while others are actively shopping multiple supermarkets for the best grocery deals. A growing number are even planting gardens on apartment balconies or in backyards to fight against high prices. These shifts in consumer behaviors could be short-lived or stick around for years to come.
