SETTERWIND RECORDS TOP 2023 - A playlist of songs from our favorite releases this year.

2023 was a huge year for Setterwind Records. The Setterwind Family grew in size and the level of communal support was heightened. I am proud of every record, cd, cassette, and events that we got to be a part of this year. It’s been a luxury to get to bond with friends at shows, fests, and record stores and an even greater pleasure to get to work with some of them.

We’re running head first into 2024. Setterwind has so many new projects, collaborations, store expansions, and of course MUSIC coming in the new year. Frankly it’s why I am getting out of bed in the morning. This is for the community, hardcore, Michigan, and beyond.

Thank you to all you paid attention, listened, supported. See you in the new year.

“Into The Sun” the debut ep from is available now on all streaming platforms! 5 new tracks that will instantly take you back to hearing bands like Elliott, Texas Is the Reason, or Jimmy Eat World for the first time. A ton of work and love went into these songs and we are so proud to be a part of it.

ICYMI yesterday, we are excited to finally share with you the first single from South East Michigan’s Grey Gardens.

Anyone who grew up listening to 2nd wave emotional indie rock in the 1990’s will be quick to recognize the heavy dose of Texas is the Reason and Elliott in the mix along with heavier passages ala Hum and early Smashing Pumpkins. It’s driving riffs and sparkly overdriven leads. It’s the sound of bearing your soul for everyone to see. It’s emotionally charged indie rock that calls back to a classic era of the genre. There is something for everyone in Grey Gardens.
