Why Zone 2 Training? ⬇️ As I’m reaching the halfway point in my marathon training, I’m starting to really understand the importance of slow, low heart rate runs. And whilst I still have room to improve, I’m slowly seeing progress from when I started. I’m sure you hear all the time to “forget about pace” and “run slow to run fast”, but what does that actually mean? By training in zone 2, it makes oxygen the prime driver of energy production and improves mitochondrial function, making your body more efficient.
