Chris couldn't believe it. This wasn't the meek wife he had managed to tame for the past five years. No . Someone must be putting some really crazy ideas in his wife's head.

Chris was a true definition of a chauvinist and a dictator . Truth be told, no-one thought they'd last a year in that marriage, talk less of five years. Men....that's a feat! Kudos to Linda, alias Mrs Chris for her patience which apparently, she has run out of.

Just like the rest of us in love, Linda was warned oooh...how I wish you were there to hear her defend the love of her life . In deed love is the most blind thing that has ever existed. "Linda, are you sure about this marriage?" I asked the lady who was smiling at her phone like an idiot. Well.....five years later she finally agrees she was an idiot. A big one at that.

"I want a divorce ." Chris lifted his head to confirm from whome those words had come and sure enough, it was the wife he had managed to tame for years, the wife he had made believe that men are free agents who can do whatever they wanted and that it was their duty to " discipline " their wives, that women are a weaker gender and should do the bidding of men, that their place was the kitchen and childbearing. Chris was alarmed. He didn't see this coming.

"Woman, what did you say? " roared Chris, fuming in rage, eyes red and bulging out, like those of a strangled cow. "I said I want a divorce." Linda said, more sure of her statement this time. She had made her decision. She had had enough. Enough of the beating, the lonely nights, the abuse, the r**e, the slavery....she was fed up.

Christ swerved his hand in one swoosh and down went Linda in a loud thud. She had expected this but wasn't fast enough to miss the blow from this raged bull. She wiped her mouth and the saw blood . The sight of blood used to scare her but...not anymore. She got used to it. "Do that one more time and I'll ensure you end behind bars" Linda said in a composed manner that shook Chris

1. How you live your life matters a lot . How you interact with people and your deeds.
2. Be humble.
3. Whatever you do, do it as unto God.
4. Respect authority.
5. At the end of it all, it'll be just you and your God so above all, work on your relationship with God.

A NIGHT OF HORROR.

I had had a long day and was exhausted. Darkness was stealthily taking over, inviting the night. Teddy ( my husband) had called earlier saying that he'd be home late. I settled on my comfy couch ready yo watch my favourite show on citizen TV, Becky. Other than the sound of the television, the house was unusually quiet, too quiet that it scared me.

Barely twenty minutes into the program, thunder rattled with so much vigor I didn't realise I was screaming until it stop and my voice was the only thing piercing through the heart of the dark. I've never really been a fun of heavy rains accompanied with hailstones, thunderstorm and lightening. It creeps me out and apparently, this was one of those nights. I coiled myself on the couch already dreading the cold night. The thought of my loving husband out in the cold couldn't let me rest. Series of questions crisscrossed in my mind. Is he safe? Is he cold? Christ! Is he stuck in the rain? I couldn't help but wonder.

No sooner had I settled from the thunder than the lights went off and it was just.....dark. My heart was already palpitating . The thought of being alone in this big house during the blackout was scary. I took my phone and tried my husband's number to at least know his progress on the homecoming journey but lo! His line wasn't reachable. Oooh dear, what will I do? To ensure my safety, I decided to lock the door and head to the bedroom but suddenly there seemed to be strange noices from every direction........

Go out on a date with another couple close to you. This will give you a chance to celebrate love and talk couple to couple. Your love will grow stronger

8. COMPASSION DATE
There are many people in society to bless. You and your partner, find a children's home, an elderly home, a hospital or someone in need and together go spend time with them. God will bless your love

9. CANDLE-LIGHT DINNER DATE
There is something romantic about looking into each other's eyes in dim candle light. Make it special. Romance is sweet

10. SPECIAL MOMENT DATE
This is when you celebrate big as a couple a special moment like Birthday, Anniversary, Graduation or Promotion. Never forget these moments

11. MAKE-UP DATE
If things between you two haven't been going well. Make effort to save your love by planning a good date. A date provides a good setting to allow you two to talk and get back to deep love

This is one thing I do not understand with fellow humans. Family members live like strangers. No-one really knows what's going on in your life, worse still, they don't care. Infact they are only hoping that you are not doing better than them because if you are , then that's another problem. Today family members only meet during funerals and instead of good vibes, they be fighting over land and the things of this world, vanity. You fight over land, it realises you love it very much, it decides to love you right back so it swallows you ( untimely and premature death) . Be careful what you wish for.

Why do we take our supposed loved ones for granted? Then in their funerals we act all broken and regretful. You've not seen someone for years and you bary talk either. Wait, that's even better. You have a problem, you reach out to some you know quite well has the power to help you and from there henceforth your calls go unpicked. Out of desperation, you even send texts or use someone closer to them but your efforts bare no fruits. You decide to forget that they ever existed in your life and life goes on.

We don't have to live like this you know.....make that phone call, send that message, send that parcel, go over, have a chitchat , help where you can, refer them to opportunities. This way, the world will be a better place. God bless you even as you make the world a better place. ❤️
