Voice of Africa Radio was set up on 1st of January, 2000, to correct the exclusion and marginalisation of the African community of London from the electronic media. Its success and popularity achieved it a city-wide and international acclaim amongst African Migrants. After six years of tireless campaigning, it finally won a bid for a 5 year permanent FM licence on the 16th of February 2006 ostensibly to focus on the Newham area.
