County Executive Brian M. Hughes, right, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the New Jersey Association of Counties Board of Directors during NJAC’s annual celebration of county government in Atlantic City. The award was presented by NJAC Executive Director John Donnadio, pictured, May 4 at the annual President's Luncheon in the Palladium Ballroom at Caesar's.

Mr. Hughes, who recently announced his decision to retire at the end of this year, has served as Mercer County Executive since 2004. Prior to being elected County Executive, he served as Deputy Executive Director of the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, and then served two terms on the Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders (now the Board of County Commissioners), including a term as Freeholder President.
