📚 Reflecting on history at the "70 Years Later - Brown v. Board of Education Decision" event! Hosted last Tuesday, the gathering drew about 90 attendees, as noted by political science assistant professor Dr. Pia Knigge. 🗣️ Speakers like Dr. Tracey Barke, Rep. Phillip Ensler (AL House District 74), and Dr. Monte Linebarger (MPS, Chief Academic Officer) shed light on current education challenges in Montgomery. 🎬 The morning included a screening of the documentary "The Harvest: Integrating Mississippi’s Schools" (2023), sparking meaningful discussions about progress and equity in education. 🌟 📽️📝

AUMLive's COMM freshman Tyreanna Causey and COMM senior Makenzie Martin join forces with WSFA to cover the powerful strike on Wednesday, Feb. 28 near the Ida Belle Young Library Tower. 🎤✊🏽 Students unite to protest SB 129, advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion in Alabama legislation. 📢📚

Congratulations in Communication.🎉

Freshman communication major Devin Vaughn received top research paper honors last weekend at the Southeast Journalism Conference held at Troy University. Vaughn’s article “The Importance of Moonlight’s Healthy Depiction of Masculinity” won first place in the student research category. Vaughn’s area of study is public relations at AUM.

SEJC was founded in 1986 by journalism professors in efforts to encourage greater interest in student journalism and to create ties among journalism programs at universities in the Southeast, according to the sejc.org website.

Vaughn is seen presenting his research Saturday to a large audience after a diversity roundtable session.

FREE TACOS🌮🎉

The WASC will be hosting Tacos with Tutors
Tuesday, October 3rd, 11am-2pm in Taylor 221-223.

We will have tutors on hand and plenty of tacos! After meeting with a tutor for help with preparing for midterms, they can redeem a ticket for a free lunch and a chance to win a prize!!!!
