josh fuson:
Nashville-based songwriter/producer Josh Fuson is on the verge of releasing his first solo record, The Supremes. After playing in a variety of bands since he was a kid in Maine and producing, recording, and collaborating with independent artists in Nashville, he has created an expressive work that is uniquely his own voice and vision. While rooted in folk, the soundscapes
in which Josh Fuson tells his stories vary from intimate vocals over an acoustic guitar to lush arrangements of soaring keys, weaving guitars, and anchoring drums and bass. This is evident in is first release The Supremes: a collection of songs inspired by the 9 justices on the Supreme Court of the United States. Songs range from To Cecelia, a thank you from Ruth Bader Ginsberg to her deceased mother, to Slurry Lake, a picture of mining pollution in Alaska perpetuated by an unfortunate majority opinion written by justice Anthony Kennedy. Josh is in the middle of recording material for his second release which will include songs from Feat 52 (his song-a-week project from 2009) and others written over the past few years. greybarrel:
First and foremost a vocalist, greybarrel draws much of his inspiration from a combination of classical & choral music and mainstream rock from the 60s to present. The resultant aesthetic is melody-driven rock that gets heavy on the harmony. In the span of one album, greybarrel can be found delivering a playful, tongue-in-cheek pop song, delving into patterns of the human condition in a slow-burner, and settling into a meditative canon. greybarrel finds fulfillment and therapy in playing & singing and therefore seeks to write music that is accessible, genuine, and moving.
