Everything Curry – Kingston Curry Festival Is Back!

With Kingston fast becoming a melting pot of food and culture, the Kingston Curry Festival, is poised for locals to indulge in the gastronomic likes of as much curry as possible.

At the event scheduled for Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the Hope Zoo in St. Andrew, the island’s cuisine is poised to be a complete culinary experience for participants and patrons alike.

This staging is also primed to position Jamaica to locals and visitors who want to experience this scintillating journey, while enjoying what we are known for, great food and music.

According to event organizer, Leighton Davis, Managing Director of Project2Project Consultants, Kingston Curry Festival will be the place where everything is curried, from lobsters, crabs, goat to shrimp, chicken and even mangoes.

“The aim is to showcase the best dishes from local chefs and restaurants. All food and music lovers can come and feast on their favorite curried foods while enjoying great music. Kingston Curry Festival also serves a great event for the family to enjoy,” Davis said.

Jamaicans he said crave unique food experiences that are good for the entire family, and this is just what Kingston Curry Festival will deliver.

“Curry adds an interesting twist and a tantalizing kick to dishes, especially those we never thought could be curried, so we are looking forward to delivering a unique experience and an amazing mix of food, music and art to everyone that attends,” Davis added.

Meanwhile, the Sheriff – David Bucknor who is known to feed your appetite with his hearty array of dishes, will again be at the center-stage of the activities this year. At the events last hosting that saw over 2000 patrons in attendance, Bucknor unveiled his ‘Cowboy Curry’; a whole roast pig.

“This year, we are expecting to do two whole roast pigs. We did a whole roast pig at the last staging and it was finished in about 20 minutes. We love participating at the Kingston Curry Festival because it expands our horizons and creativity,” Bucknor said.

Part proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Food for thought breakfast programme at shortwood prinary.

Record Keeping Is Important To Ensuring Your Business Success
Businesses operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, the task of
keeping records can fall secondary to everyday business operations. However,
failing to efficiently keep up-to-date and comprehensive records can hurt your
business’s long-term operations.
Atasha Bernard, General Manager, Courts Ready Cash, during the recent staging
of the Courts Ready Cash Business Survivor Webinar Series, ‘How To Keep
Business Records: Your RoadMap To Success’ said for small business owners
everywhere, recordkeeping is a necessary and sometimes tricky part of making
sure a business runs smoothly.
“Keeping clear records of income, expenses, employees, tax documents and
accounts isn’t just good business. It can bring you peace of mind, help you
monitor progress toward goals and save you time and money,” Bernard said.
According to Bernard you cannot manage what is not measured, and therefore
the reasoning behind sound record-keeping is that it allows business owners to
learn and grow from their own business experience.
“Keeping your records in check will help you understand the current situations
of your business and also project future profit or losses. In addition, good record
keeping will also show you where your business needs improvement or re-
invention,” Bernard said.

Gary Keller, the co-founder of Keller Williams (KW), the world’s largest real estate technology franchise by agent count, and executive chairman of kwx, the holding company of KW, was ranked in the Swanepoel Power 200 (SP 200) as the most powerful person in real estate for 2022.

“This is a clear win-win for our entire Keller Williams family,” said Keller. “I am extremely proud to be in business with each of our team members and ... and agent partners.

“No one succeeds alone, and this is truly a shared moment in recognition of our continued achievements together,” said Keller.

As reported by Swanepoel, Keller was recognised for his steadfast leadership amid a turbulent year. He also regained the top slot on the SP 200, a position he also reached in 2018. Since the ranking debuted in 2014, Keller has been among the five most powerful leaders in real estate for each year since.

Together with Keller, Carl Liebert, the chief executive officer of kwx, was ranked No. 103 on the SP 200. Liebert’s position moved up dramatically from No. 154 in last year’s ranking due to the continued robust efforts at kwx to create alignment, scale and efficiencies across the KW ecosystem focused on an integrated homeownership experience.

“More than ever, we want to thank and recognise our agents and partners for diligently bringing their very best when their clients needed it most,” Liebert said. “It’s our honour to be in business with them.”

Marc King, president of KW, was ranked No. 145 on the annual ranking of influential industry leaders.

“As a company built by agents, for agents, we wake up every day asking ourselves how we can best support them,” King said.

Keller Williams Jamaica’s Regional Operating Principal Rory Marsh, who was one of the winners at the USF Fast 56 Awards presented by the University of South Florida in October 2021, said the Jamaican chapter is pleased to be affiliated with a company that continues to grow in the real estate market, despite the reality of the COVID-19 virus.

“We are very pleased with our chairman’s award, and the excellent teamwork among the staff that has contributed to the company’s continued success. The real estate market is making steady strides and continues on a growth path, despite the impact of the coronavirus. This recognition will motivate us to not only continue the good work, but supersede expectations,” Marsh said.

The Keller Williams Jamaica franchise began operations in 2017. It moved from mainly servicing the north coast as a boutique real estate brokerage to servicing the entire island, becoming one of the largest brokerages. Recently, the company launched its deluxe brand, Keller Williams Luxury, that primarily assists homebuyers and investors to move into their high-end dream homes and investment properties faster and more seamlessly.

The 2022 edition of the annual report was published on January 11. The SP 200, created and published by real estate consulting firm T3 Sixty, and is now in its ninth year, is the only formal annual analysis and ranking of the real estate industry’s 200 most influential leaders.
