Biography Mbarga The Global Leaders Program1
Antoinette Carole Grace Mbarga a Human Rights Advocate, Educator, Transformational
Leader, Humanitarian and community activist with a heartfelt visible commitment to serve the
world at local and global levels was born and raised in Cameroon. She has been residing in the
Washington Metropolitan area for the past decade. She is passionate about improving
communities at large and families through purpose driven education. She serves as the current
President for the Africa Region, Delta Zeta Delta Inc sorority, Senior Consultant Advisory
Global Committee and Liaison USA for the Diaspora Innovation Institute. As an entrepreneur
she is the CEO and Founder of Afiri Consulting International and The Mbarga Project.
As a community leader, she has 16+ years of professional experiences working with individual
from disparate socio-economic backgrounds, especially Latino or African immigrants, at risk
youth and low-income families. As a Community Activist she often uses her social media
handles to raise awareness on domestic violence awareness, human trafficking, women and girls
rights as well as high profile Human Rights violation cases in the international Cameroonian
community. She was instrumental in making public the recent racial discrimination endured by
African immigrants fleeing the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. She attended lobby
and public protests led by US members of Congress against the Russia invasion of Ukraine to
remind everyone that Black Lives Matter even in war times. In 2019 she single handily led an
online campaign in the Cameroonian community at large to bring awareness against the use of
hate speech and spread of xenophobia using Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. In 2017as a
passionate advocate for the empowerment of women and girls she founded the Miss Africa USA
Internship Program with full support from the Miss Africa USA Pageant. The internship focuses
on the education of the girl child with an emphasis on encouraging black girls to pursue careers
in the STEM field (Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Under her leadership,
young girls from local middle and high schools attended the Global Engagement Summit at the
United Nations Headquarters, embarked on a college tour at Columbia University, New York
University, Georgetown; and participated in several other leadership and empowerment activities
in The Washington metropolitan area.
In 2015, Ms. Mbarga ran for City Council for Ward 5 in Hyattsville Maryland. She served as
Congressional Intern for Hon. Sheila Jackson Lee (D). As a fellow at the Cameron American
Council, she successfully organized a “Do Not Cancel the DV Lottery” community protest
before Congress and the White House. Under her leadership, she partnered with various National
HIV/AIDS Awareness Day coordinators and other entities on the validity of an NAIRAH_AD
(National African Immigrant and Refugees AIDS/HIV and Hepatitis Awareness Day in Sept
2013. More than 35 states signed a proclamation to recognize September 9th as National African
Immigrant and Refugees AIDS/HIV and Hepatitis Awareness Day. In 2014, Washington DC
Mayor followed by signing a proclamation for Africa Day in Washington DC

Nation's General Assembly resolution 68/237 and to be observed from 2015 to 2024, the Most
Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) identifies high achievers of African descent in
public and private sectors from all around the world as a progressive network of relevant actors
to join together in the spirit of recognition, justice and development of Africa, it's people on the
continent and across it's Diaspora. MIPAD is a unique global list that identifies, in total, 100
outstanding individuals under 40, pairing those based outside Africa in the Diaspora with their
counterparts inside Africa across four categories: Politics & Governance, Business &

African immigrant community who epitomize the best spirit of local community service,
who are volunteers — not paid employees or elected officials — and whose work has
greatly contributed to black women and black girls empowerment.
Embassy Of Cameroon National Youth Day Awards ( February 2020) 2020 “Afrique en Miniature Transformational Leader Award” for outstanding
community service and academic achievement. This award was earned under my
leadership as Executive Director for Miss Africa USA Internship Program.
Cameroonian Reformers of Family Development and Samaritan Foundation(FDSF) FDSF International Honorary Grand Award (May 2018). This award honors and
recognizes distinguished Cameroonian delegates, professionals, entrepreneurs and
many others that have in one way or the other make a significant impact to the
Cameroonian community in the USA. FDSF Community Leader Achievement Award ( May 2018)
Award highlights the work of African immigrants who exemplify “dedication,
integrity and honorable service to the immigrant community” and who have had a
“transformational” effect on their communities by making it a better place.
