WKP was excited to see this announcement from International Thriller Writers Organization, which is adjusting its policies for more inclusiveness for indy authors!

"ITW is thrilled to announce new membership guidelines for independently published authors! Previous guidelines required five published novels which prevented indies from participating in the Debut Thriller Award and Debut Author Program. The new guidelines reduce that number to one or more books, generating an income of $5k or more during the previous 12 calendar months along with standard quality reviews and checks such as copyright/ownership. With independent authors being the fastest growing segment of our membership, we hope these changes will allow us to share all the tools, knowledge, events, and awards ITW has to offer with this exciting and passionate group."

Thanks to ITW Executive Director KJ Howe and others who supported this change, including ITW Indie Author Chair Jerri Williams!

The International Thriller Writers is an honorary society of authors, both fiction and nonfiction, who write books broadly classified as “thrillers.” This would include (but isn’t limited to) such subjects as murder mystery, detective, suspense, horror, supernatural, action, espionage, true cr...
