* Eat for quality first
Of course calories are very important for losing and gaining weight, but all calories are not created equal. Eat nutrient-dense foods like red meat and stay away from processed garbage to get your metabolism operating properly
* Don’t max out all the time
This was a HUGE mistake of mine. When you’re first getting started lifting, you’ll get stronger almost every week, but as you progress it will take more time. Of course, you want to train hard, but maxing out on bench press every week with horrible form might tear your shoulder and keep you small.
* AVOID PROCESSED FOOD LIKE THE PLAGUE
It’s impossible to completely keep processed carbs out of your diet, but do what you can. All these will do is damage your metabolism, keeping fat on and muscle off.
* Sleep at least 7 hours
Shoot for 8, but 7 or more will allow your body to recover the way it needs to in order to build muscle and burn fat. This is ESSENTIAL to be healthy.
* Get sunlight!
Do not be scared of the sun. Vitamin D is crucial to your immune system, testosterone and so many other bodily functions. Supplement D3 as well🤙🏼

My near-seizure experience
Last night, I had a pre-seizure aura that was very intense.
An aura can feel like the start of a seizure or a sign that one is coming.
I felt like I was seizing, so all I could do was lay on the floor and call for help.
My seizures have been extremely traumatic, as I vividly remember the start of them and often have bad dreams about them.
Thankfully, last night wasn’t another bad memory. By the grace of God I am over 6 months seizure free and thankful for last night.
It was a great reminder that I need to stay on top of my medication, sleep and stress levels. Whether you have epilepsy or don’t, this is your reminder to do the same🤝
It also reminded me that at any moment my life could end, so I must be thankful for the present moment and use every second to the glory of God.

Alright I’ll stop making fun of vegans (maybe) because I respect anyone who will attempt to make a positive change in their diet.
However, the plant-based diet has several problems that I believe a meat-based diet solves.
Vegans often eat highly processed foods that are marketed as healthy that lead to inflammation and other health problems.
They also miss out on a lot of protein, b-vitamins, zinc, iron, healthy fats and other essential nutrients.
Do what you think is best for your health. I think eating non-processed foods, primarily meat and healthy fats, is the best option. You may think it’s eating lucky charms (which the government believes is better than ground beef). Just do your research and find what works best for you🤙🏼

Feeding them real foods is also key for growth. Almost 70% of the average child’s diet is processed food. It’s no wonder so many kids suffer from chronic illnesses and depression. We’re feeding them inflammatory garbage!!
Feed them healthy protein and fat to help their development! Once their brain adjusts to eating real foods they will love it.

How can an energy drink claim to burn fat, boost metabolism and contain essential energy???
Just because there’s a fruit on the can doesn’t mean it’s a healthy alternative to an energy drink.
It contains very similar ingredients like citric acid (which they were SUED for due to its harmful effects/false advertising) & Sucralose (an artificial sweetener linked to gut issues and potentially cancer).
Of course it’s better than a Monster or Red Bull that has 30 grams of sugar, but I still believe there’s better options.

I’m getting brain surgery.
On April 8th I go into the hospital for a week in order to induce a seizure and pinpoint the exact spot they will be operating on.
I have really struggled with this. I’ve had doubts about God and my future throughout this time.

Your body’s circadian rhythm (sleep cycle) depends on sunlight in order to maintain a proper balance of cortisol and melatonin, allowing you to have energy for the day and sleep well at night.
2. Protein and fat, not carbs:
In the morning, your body needs to replenish with lots of protein and fat in order to be energized for the long haul. Carbohydrates in the morning, especially processed ones, can cause a crash by midday.
3. Movement, not sitting around:
