The whole idea of setting up the Freedom Newspaper INC Facebook account, is aimed at circumventing Gambia’s iron fist dictator Yahya Jammeh’s attempt to block the Freedom Newspaper IP address in The Gambia.The Freedom Newspaper website link: (www.freedomnewspaper.com ) has been blocked by the totalitarian rogue administration of Yahya Jammeh, which is reputed for its gross rights violations,
lack of respect for good governance, and total disregard for the rule of law. Oppressed Gambians are at the mercy of the despotic “so called leader” who is increasingly becoming isolated by the civilized world—thanks to his dictatorial tendencies. Since the advent of his administration in July of 1994, three local journalists have so far been murdered, media houses touched, and shutdown by Mr. Journalists critical of the dictatorship are often arrested, tortured, and slapped with trumped up charges. Under Jammeh’s rule, the country continues to witness an unprecedented mass exodus of professionals, human rights activists, including Public Servants, who have been compelled to leave their own country largely due to political persecution meted out to them by the dictator. With this new Freedom Newspaper INC Facebook account, the dictator has been rendered impotent, as there is no way that he can censor Facebook. Let him try it and see. Folks enjoy, and make sure that you pass the message within, and outside the country. The Freedom Newspaper has once again invented a new methodology to reach out to its wider audience around the globe. For a kick-start, we have started by uploading some of the news stories on the site. Our heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Banka Manneh, of Atlanta Georgia, for helping us to set up this important page. The whole idea was conceived by Mr. Manneh, including other Freedom Newspaper/Radio fans, who thought that the best way to circumvent dictator Jammeh’s blockage of the Freedom Newspaper is to open a Facebook account for the site. In this way, Mr. Manneh, believes that news thirsty Gambians back home can read our stories without having the worry of the widely feared National Intelligence Agency (NIA) watching their back. Mr. Manneh, himself an IT specialist, and also a computer wizard, played an important role in setting up the page. Once again, our sincere gratitude to Banka Manneh for spearheading this important initiative. Nobody can stop us! God is on our side! Let Jammeh, and his partners in cyber crime melt!
