Congratulations Judge Jackson. Well Done!!!

Congratulations Judge Jackson. Well Done!!!

One of my favorite poems is “I Am a Black Woman,” by Mari Evans and it abides in my spirit since I memorized it in high school. It feels extremely defining in this moment. The last stanza is:

I am a Black woman—
Tall as a cypress
Strong
Defying place
and time
And circumstance
Assailed
Impervious
Indestructible
Look on me and be renewed.

I’m feeling great renewal today for the grit and grace of our new Supreme Court Justice, Ketanji Brown Jackson. (Photograph by Lelanie Foster)

Sad day in America - what we witnessed at the Capitol today was insurrection, treason and Terrorism.

We must demand the President, his family, Rudy Giuliani, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Jim Jordan and all the politicians who supported the lies of this President be arrested for treason terrorism inciting violence and any law that was broken!

This was not a protest! It was the act of terrorism happening live on TV!

This was shameful and cannot be tolerated.

If you are a woman and voted thank you! We just elected the first Woman Vice President! How cool is that!

For those interested in women's history, I have done an interview on my Living and Lovin Herbs Podcast about the Connecticut witch trials. Most of the victims (2 men were executed along with their wives) were women.

This is a history that isn't widely known in Connecticut and rarely taught in history classes.

I hope you enjoy the show.

"Laws pertaining to witchcraft came out of the Bible...Do not allow a sorceress to live. Then it was later changed to "Do not allow a witch to live". And that's where the Connecticut law for witches came from" Tony Griego
