Takeoff’s tragic death has been met with both sadness and shock from across the Hip Hop community, with Gucci Mane, Killer Mike, Joe Budden and many more reacting to his passing.

The Migos rapper (real name Kirshnik Ball) was shot and killed outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas in the early hours of Tuesday (November 1). The 28-year-old was fatally wounded after a dice game turned violent and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Quavo, who was with Takeoff at the time of the shooting, was unscathed. Two other victims were transported to nearby hospitals with gunshot wounds, according to police.

Takeoff’s untimely demise has perhaps been most felt in his native Atlanta, Georgia, as many of the city’s musical flag bearers flocked to social media on Tuesday morning to pay tribute to the late Migos lyricist.

“This broke my heart[.] Rest In Peace ,” wrote Gucci Mane — who worked with the Culture trio on hits like “I Get the Bag” and “Slippery” — on Instagram next to a photo of the late rapper.

Killer Mike added in a heartfelt tweet: “May God Bless Our Dead & May God Protect Our Living. Praying for the Migos family. Praying for my people that we may one day end this war with ourselves.”

Fellow ATLiens Mike WiLL Made-It, Rae Sremmurd, J.I.D, Rich Homie Quan, London On Da Track, K Camp, Baby Tate and the Ying Yang Twins also mourned Takeoff’s passing.

Takeoff has reportedly been killed in a shooting in Houston, Texas.
According to TMZ, the Migos rapper (real name Kirshnik Khari Ball) was gunned down at 810 Billiards and Bowling in downtown Houston in the early hours of Tuesday (November 1). He was 28 years old.

Takeoff and Quavo were partaking in a dice game when an altercation broke out and shots were fired, striking Takeoff “either in the head or near to his head.” Despite initial rumors suggesting he was also shot, Quavo was not injured.

Houston Police announced on Twitter early Tuesday that officers responded to a shooting near 1200 Polk St. One victim was found dead upon arrival, although their identity has yet to be revealed.

Birdman is prepping a sequel to Cash Money’s Baller Blockin hood flick with help from NBA YoungBoy.

The Louisiana natives teased the movie’s arrival on their respective social media pages on Wednesday (October 12), sharing a movie poster featuring the title Baller Blockin 2.

The poster also contained an image of downtown New Orleans — the birthplace of Birdman’s Cash Money empire — along with Cash Money Records, Rich Gang and YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s respective logos.

“BALLA BLOCKIN 2 kmin soon ,” Birdman wrote on Instagram, while NBA YoungBoy asked his YouTube followers: “Who you want to see in this movie ?”

Released in December 2000 following Cash Money and Hot Boys’ rise to fame, Baller Blockin was a dramatic retelling of life in New Orleans’ notorious Magnolia Projects.

The movie starred Lil Wayne, Juvenile, B.G., Turk, Mannie Fresh, Birdman and Cash Money co-founder Ronald “Slim” Williams, as well as actor-comedians T.K. Kirkland and the late Anthony “A.J.” Johnson.

Baller Blockin was accompanied by a soundtrack album featuring music from the label’s all-star roster, along with outside guests like Nas, E-40, UGK, 8Ball & MJG and Mack 10. It debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 after selling over 80,000 copies in its first week.

Birdman and NBA YoungBoy are no stranger to working together having teamed up for the joint mixtape From the Bayou last year. The long-awaited project cracked the top 20 of the Billboard 200 and earned Baby and YoungBoy a nomination for Best Duo or Group at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards.

YoungBoy Never Broke Again channeled Cash Money’s influence once again earlier this month when he dropped the surprise mixtape 3800 Degrees, whose title and cover art paid homage to Juvenile’s multi-platinum 1998 album 400 Degreez.

The tribute didn’t go unnoticed by Juve, who saluted the young Baton Rouge rap star on Instagram. “I just want to say thank you to for redoing 400 degrees over in his own way at the peak of his career appreciate the love young boss,” he wrote.

Jim Jones has claimed he has footage of his fight with Freddie Gibbs that disproves the Indiana native’s claim it was nothing more than a “food fight.”

The Dipset rapper took to Instagram on Wednesday (October 12) to respond to Gibbs’ recent comments about their alleged altercation, which took place at Miami’s Prime 112 restaurant in December 2021.

Jones teased releasing the footage, suggesting it shows Gibbs coming off second best in the scuffle.

“Prime footage loadin lol,” he wrote in a since-deleted post. “Should I b petty or keep or player cause this s**t look nasty is all I’m a say lol.”

Jim Jones shared a follow-up video in which he spoke about no longer acting on emotions or caring about the opinions of others.

“As I’m sitting in this gym reflecting, I just wanna say, I’m way too smart to let any of you n-ggas trick me out of my position, you heard?” he said during a workout. “When I was young I moved off emotion, you dig? I’m not so young anymore, you heard?

“And if you a king, you never give a f**k about the opinions of peasants. Remember I told you that, you heard? When you try to get to it, stay consistent, and that’s gon’ bring you motivation. More music loading — I’m on they ass this season.”

Freddie Gibbs was asked about his run-in with Jim Jones during his interview with The Breakfast Club that aired Wednesday and downplayed the rumors he took a beating at the hands of the Harlem rapper and his crew.

“I let street s**t stay in the streets and I don’t got a problem with anyone doing better than me,” he said. “It was some furniture moving, but it was a food fight or something like that. It wasn’t nothing crazy like that. Nobody got f**ked up to that point.”

Gibbs further discussed the fight while referencing his brawl with Benny The Butcher in Buffalo, New York earlier this year, claiming he’s never actually been hit by another rapper.

“All the incidents you see, I was just eating with my girl,” he said. “I don’t go out trying to start nothing with nobody… I like to fight… Either time could’ve been bad, but everybody naming these rappers and stuff but ain’t no rapper ever hit me.”

He added: “I’ve been in way worse situations than that. I can’t control if you bring 30 people to a restaurant with a camera crew to humiliate me but you end up losing.”

13/10/2022

50 Cent‘s son Marquise Jackson wants to have a sit-down with his father following their $6,700 spat over spending time with each other.

During a new interview with TMZ, Jackson revealed he wants to have a conversation with his dad and gain his perspective of their estranged relationship, whether or not they agree with each other’s points of views.

“I don’t even know if a sit-down can actually restore the situation,” he began. “It’s just more so an olive branch. If you’re up for it, I’m up for it. I’m definitely willing to sit down with him so I can hear his perspective and gain a little bit of understanding. We’re both men at the end of the day – we should be able to agree and disagree and it not be a problem.

“He believes that, from his perspective, he thinks I’m entitled, when that’s not the case. It’s never been about the money for me, it’s more so the relationship and for me, personally. It’s more so for the relationship more than the money for me, because if it’s about the money, then I’m willing to put it up to at least make the situation a little bit better if possible.”

Marquise Jackson doesn’t know what would come from meeting up with 50 Cent, but has questions he wants to put to his father. If money is the way they’re able to connect, he’s more than happy to pay up.

“Honestly, I don’t know what to expect from this situation if we do have a sit-down,” he admitted. “I don’t necessarily know what to expect or what it looks like, but if it takes me paying for his time, I’m more than willing to do that. Maybe we could just gain understanding of each other, maybe we could understand each other a little bit better, and maybe that’s what a better situation looks like.”

He added: “But I can’t tell you exactly what it should look like or what it would look like, because then that’s like me being a kid again and just living in my dreams. You get older, you’re more mature, you start thinking about things, and it’s like, you might have questions. It’s just a situation that’s unfortunate, but it’s like, what can you do at this point?”

Earlier this month, Marquise Jackson claimed the $6,700-a-month child support payments he received from 50 Cent wasn’t enough to sustain his lifestyle in New York City. Following the public’s response to his comments, he took to Instagram to offer his father $6,700 to spend a whole day with him.

“Since y’all think $6,700 is sooo much money someone tell my pops I will pay him $6,700 for just 24hr of his time so we can do everything I ever wanted to do with him as a kid,” he wrote while spelling out “Entitled” with cash in his photo. “Red Yellow Green whatever color he like.”

50 Cent responded by sharing a screenshot of a comment Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. made on his son’s post, which read: “You Stupid I’ll Take 5 Over There Myself I Might Even Play Some Games With You.”

The G-Unit boss posted the screenshot alongside a trailer for The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast, while writing in the caption: “[grinning squinting face] & know what’s up stupid! BLOWING MONEY FAST 10.23.22 it’s lit ?” https://youtu.be/crveffjoX4s

Kendrick Lamar‘s seminal good kid, m.A.A.d city has been crowned the greatest concept album of all time by Rolling Stone.

The 2012 album beat out Green day’s American Idiot for the top spot and the next rap album clocked in at No. 4 with Raekwon and Ghostface Killah’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.

RS explained the concept of good kid, m.A.A.d city as: “Lamar comes of age in Compton, encountering the city’s many pleasures as well its ever-present threat of gang conflict and police violence.”

“The cover promises a short film by Kendrick Lamar, and the rapper delivers with a coming-of-age opus, the cinematic scope of which has been rightfully compared to Scorsese and Tarantino.”

Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city arrived in October 2012 and the project’s 10th anniversary is coming up next week on October 22. It could make chart history by becoming the first rap album to spend a full decade on the Billboard 200 (per Chart

The LOX once almost fought Mike Tyson while trying to “protect” Eve, according to Styles P.

The Yonkers rapper recounted the incident during a recent appearance on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, revealing it (almost) happened at an awards show “a lot of, lot of, lot of, lot of moons ago.”

As Styles P explained, The LOX were at the event with their Ruff Ryders running mate Eve when Tyson approached the “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” rapper and expressed an interest in her.

Styles, Jadakiss and Sheek Louch felt obliged to look out for Eve. (Tyson was convicted of r**e in 1992.) However, neither of them were keen to potentially take a punch from the heavyweight champ.

In fact, Styles P had a knife on him and was apparently ready to use it to avoid catching a severe beatdown.

“Vegas or L.A., it’s one of them awards,” he remembered. “We see Mike, we’re chilling. Eve is with us, though — us three, there’s nobody else there. And [Mike’s] on his bully and we decided, ‘We gotta protect Eve.’ We was deciding who was gonna get knocked out. I was like, ‘I got a knife. Mike’s gonna kill us!’

“He just liked Eve for how she was looking. Eve was nervous; we with Eve so gotta be the protectors, so now we in a f**ked up position. Now we deciding who’s gonna take the Mike blow. We decided Louch. Louch was like, ‘F**k no!’ I’m like, ‘I’ma die! I’m little!’ Nobody can take this blow. We trying to come up with a strategy. What do you do?”

Thankfully, it doesn’t sound like the situation escalated and The LOX and Mike Tyson have since rekindled their close relationship.

“Mike loves us,” Styles P added. “We’re The LOX, we’re his little bros. We got rapport, we hang out, we chill, we smoke w**d, all that. That’s big bro! He had genuine love for us, treated us, lined us up with a few bags so it was awesome.”

Tyson didn’t share his side of the story, although he did reveal he has since patched things up with Eve. “I didn’t mean that, Eve,” he said apologetically. “Me and Eve, we made amends. I said sorry. That’s all I care about.”

Kanye West isn’t willing to retract his recent anti-Semitic comments, despite widespread backlash and disruption to his multi billion-dollar business empire.

The Chicago rap mogul addressed the controversy after attending the premiere of Candace Owens’ new documentary The Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM in Nashville on Wednesday (October 12).

While speaking with a photographer outside the venue, Kanye explained his comments stemmed from “bad experiences” with Jewish executives in Hollywood, while saying he’s “happy” he “crossed the line,” according to TMZ.

When asked if he wishes harm on Jewish people, Ye replied: “No. No way. But I do feel that in Hollywood, especially with Black entertainers, I’ve had a lot of bad experiences. And then people use that anti-Semite idea to cover up bad business, to say, ‘Hey, if you call somebody out for bad business, that means you’re being anti-Semitic.'”

He continued: “So I feel happy to have crossed the line of that idea, so you can speak openly about, you know, things like being canceled from the bank. A lot of this stuff with me is the richest Black man in American history. I put $140 million in JP Morgan and never even had a chance to — not even get a deal from” before a truck drove by and drowned him out.

“We’ll speak at a different time,” Kanye told the photographer as he ended the conversation and stepped into an awaiting car.
