I am truly lucky to be a part of such an amazing junior tour, and to see first hand it's amazing growth over the last few years. We have an amazing team at the top. However, at it's core are our amazing community of junior golfers. Over the years has seen many of our players move on to compete in the college ranks, while new and younger players alike join in the fun, growing our community.

As a group they celebrate the wins and medals won, and everyone also learns from their bad days too. What I love about these kids is the support they show to one another regardless of the outcome. They push each other with every tournament to elevate each others games and keep reaching for new personal best scores!

Finally home after 10 days on the road for the UA JR Golf World 🌎 Championship w 675 golfers ages 6-18 from 45 countries around the Globe! Reunion Resort in Kissimmee FL was the gracious host.

3 extremely difficult courses designed by legends Arnold Palmer - Jack Nicklaus - and Tom Watson known as the Big 3!

An action packed week started w my 55 bday🎂, and included a minority golf legends scholarship presentation, generous player gift package upon check in, mini golf championship, waterpark party, putting championship, snag golf competition, live scoring with a big screen, Friday Night Dinner Party for all and a one of a kind drone show plus a 10 minute fireworks extravaganza and more…

Throw in a couple weather delays and 3 sudden death playoffs as well…..

More than we could of imagined!

Now, one nights sleep and head up to Ocean City for the 54 Hole UA Amateur National Championship and catch up w long time friends ❤️🙏🏼❤️

Team Sarasota/Port Charlotte - Under Armour Junior Golf Team Wins it’s 3rd National Championship!

Congratulations to Niko Gordic Ronderos on winning the Under Armour Junior Golf National Championship (Boys 12-14 Age) on the famed PGA TOUR Champion Course at PGA National Resort this past weekend! Niko qualified to compete at The UA Nationals through our local Under Armour Sarasota/Port Charlotte Spring League. Niko competed against 114 Under Armour (12-14 Boys) All Stars from 50 Leagues across the Nation 🇺🇸. A total of 475 players (Ages 6-18) competed at nationals. 4 age groups with both boys and girls divisions.The Under Armour Fall League starts in October and the top players will advance to Winter ❄️ Nationals at PGA National Resort in February! Ravens Roost announces 2024 scholarship recipients, golf tournament results

(June 4, 2024) Ravens Roost #44 of Ocean City recently announced the presentation of annual scholarship awards.

This year, scholarship awards totaling $15,000 went to six students at three area high schools. The 2024 scholar/athlete awardees are:

Daniel Karchevski, Stephen Decatur High School
Abigail Melito, Stephen Decatur High School
Vanesska Hall, Worcester Preparatory School
Esther Mehilli, Worcester Preparatory School
Heather Smyth, Indian River High School
Grace Robinson, Indian River High School

Don McMullen, Scholarship Committee co-chair, said the Ravens Roost Scholarship Committee awards individual scholarships based on SAT/ACT scores, grade-point averages, participation in athletics, community service, work history, letters of recommendations, and an essay on how athletics are important in today’s society.

Ravens Roost #44 has awarded $258,900 in scholarships over the last two-plus decades.

The nonprofit held its 27th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Ocean Pines Golf Club on May 31. More than 100 golfers participated.

The winning teams and players were:

First Place Ravens Roost team: The Ravens Roost #44 team of Bob Grice, Frank Nechay, Scott Ballweg and Andrew Thompson
First Place overall: Dean Hamburg, Mike McCuster, Tracy Piper and Michael Decker
Closest to the Pin (men): Mike Decker
Closest to the Pin (women): Samantha Boger
Closest to the Line (men): Bob Grice
Closest to the Pin (women): Samantha Boger
Putting Contest: Don Owrey

The Scholarship Committee wishes to thank signature sponsor American Legion Post 166 of Ocean City, and major sponsors District Cannabis, Ocean Downs Casino and Ravens Roost #44.

“We would also like to thank our tee sponsors, local golf courses who donated rounds of golf, and businesses who donated gift certificates and prizes,” McMullen said.

“In addition, we would like to thank our golfers who played on a beautiful sunny day at the Ocean Pines Golf Club, and all our Ravens Roost #44 volunteers who made this event another success,” he continued. “A special thank you to Ocean Pines Director of Golf Bob Beckelman and his staff and Director of Golf Maintenance Justin Hartshorne and his staff for the excellent course conditions, and Judie and her staff at the Clubhouse Grille restaurant for an outstanding luncheon.”

McMullen said the Scholarship Committee is currently seeking donations for 2025 scholarships.
