Kind of a long message for everyone who has been a big, medium or even a teeny-tiny supporter of SamSarah (thank you very much.)
When we had our taxes done this spring, our accountant said, “You do know you can retire.” WHAT? I have been working since I was 13, and I’m now 67, that means 54 years working at many different jobs. Since I was born in 1954, that seemed like a sign to me. OK then. With all due respect to Maria Shriver in her latest Sunday Paper - I’m ready to leave.
Don’t freak out, there is still time for you to fulfill your stash building. My website is retail only, and the shopping cart will be operating until July 31. It’s just me here so please do not expect Amazon Prime Service. Your order will be put in a stack in the order received, and when I get to yours, if I still have inventory, it will go out. If not, I’ll refund your purchase. On the 31st, I will shut down my shopping cart, and keep on shipping your orders until I get to the bottom of the stack. I will leave my website open so you can browse, make a list, and order from your favorite retail shop. They deserve your business, so let me remind you that just because you don’t see something on their website, it doesn't mean they don’t have it, or can’t get it in their shop. Pick up the phone or email to see if you can order. Even better - hop in your car and visit! We can do that now! I’m sure they’ll be happy to part with inventory. It’s difficult to keep the website and in stock inventory all synched.
For all my stitchers, all of us in the industry are so grateful for you. Without you, we would have no purpose, and I thank you.
There is a shop locator feature “Where to buy” on my site, so you can use that contact info. Shops, please check that I have your correct info, or any info at all for you, and let me know if there are changes or additions. https://www.samsarahdesignstudio.com/where-to-buy.htm Put in your zip code and the radius you are willing to travel (shops can put in their location zip code to see their listing.)
If you are placing an order before July 31, please make sure you have your complete order in your cart before checking out. This month, a stitcher placed three orders on the same day. Pay Pal puts a shipping charge on each individual order plus charges me a processing fee for each individual payment. I will charge you all of the shipping charges to help offset all of my processing fees. Please don’t ask to order after July 31.
For all my wholesale/shop friends, and fellow designers/exhibitors, it’s you I will miss the most. My first trade show was in Charlotte in probably 1996. Even though we’d see each other two, then four, then back to two times a year, it was like we were never apart. We always had plenty to talk about, lots of catching up and many phone conversations and email exchanges in between shows. We worked hard, built our businesses together, and I’ll be forever grateful for all your sage advice and fun times.
Shops will still be able to place orders through a phone call, fax or email until Thanksgiving 2021 which this year is November 25. The printer who did such an excellent job for SamSarah, went out of business during the pandemic, so I am reprinting a few titles here in my office. They are now printed on my laser printer on a good quality, 24 lb. office paper and collated, folded, packaged in a 6 x 9 hanging bag - my kitchen island is now production central. This girl knows how to have fun! I’m not reprinting everything - mostly the perpetual calendar, Fun Every Day - because you really need them all to complete the project.
To my amazing distributors, thank you for accepting me (“I got on the automatic!” was a great feeling in the early days.)
To all of you fun floss tube presenters and bloggers, thanks so much for promoting my work. In my case, you can stand down now. But please keep on showcasing the good designs coming up.
A special note to Barb Miller Moore. Thank you for creating and moderating the page for SamSarah Design Studio Stitchers, You created a fun and kind group. I’m grateful for you.
If I’ve left anyone off my thank you list, it’s because I can’t think of it all at this moment. But you are equally appreciated.
Love to you all! It’s been been a fun and lucky job!
