One problem I see for many IT companies today is significant shifts in the competitive landscape. Solutions that used to be stand-alone and have specific vendors have been integrated into other solutions, creating new competitors.

This is not a new problem for IT companies, but here are a few current examples of changes in the competitive landscape of IT. Cybersecurity is integrated into SD-WAN. UCaaS is integrated into productivity and/or vertical-specific software. Cybersecurity companies sell phones, and cybersecurity is integrated into the cloud and IoT. Even services are affected because many MSPs add an S and become MSSPs. Top off the confusion with AI integration everywhere, and you've got serious competitive landscape changes.

The question is, has your marketing strategy been changed in light of the changes in the competitive landscape?

In 2023, a Forbes article said regarding the above study, "That's in part because 33% of all buyers desire a seller-free sales experience—a preference that climbs to 44% for millennials."
