I was lying in bed, sick AGAIN. My son was playing on the floor next to the bed, filled with all his little boy joy. He jumped up on the bed and said ‘Mommy, let’s play!’ I was so weak, I couldn’t even respond. I felt so bad both physically and emotionally. I especially felt bad for my son, he would grow up with a sick mother. He would have to grow up with me missing days of his life, precious moments and important milestones.

Fortunately, I knew exactly what I had to do to get better. I just needed to commit to it. In that moment, I realized that my choices and actions were making me sick but rather than being disciplined, I had allowed myself to create a lifestyle of illness.

Because I had recently began a journey of self-exploration and higher consciousness, I was doing things differently in my life. I had began talking more to God and asking for guidance for the things I desired in life. In that moment, I desired wellness. I had asked God for guidance on many things but never my health. Not surprisingly, out of nowhere came the strength to commit to the change. It was a shift in consciousness, the thought being that I would commit to removing everything out of my diet that was making me sick.

My consciousness deepened, committing to a completely different lifestyle seemed out of reach before but now made sense. The seemingly ‘difficult’ lifestyle was actually the one that would bring me joy. It might be inconvenient but look at the tradeoff, my son gets his mother everyday and a better version of her overall. My strengthened consciousness said this was a no brainer.

The beauty is, it worked. I went from being miserable half of my life to a state of health and joy everyday. It was a blessed transformation. A complete 180.
