After his climb from being a solo artist to becoming an A&R executive / Artist at Up-N-Commin Records (U.N.C), Azrael was abruptly terminated in 2008 by CEO Sinclair (Ess-Bee) Boyd - who decided to drop the label for lack of teamwork in his department. In 2009, Azrael and high school friend Brandon (Ya Boi Bron) Stevens. Pair together and founded Five40 Music Group in late 2009. The label’s first
release mixtape was "The Making Of Ya Boi B" by Ya Boi Bron. with top singles such as "Wait Awhile, Making My Bread & The Best Thing". On the heels of these releases came "Beautiful Day" the lead single from Jaymazin who became the newest member of Five40 Music Group. While Jaymazin's single went successful, Ya Boi Bron Later release The Warm Up (Mixtape) and the summer mixtape The Heat Wave in 2010. The Heat Wave became a huge success, it gave Bron & the label more exposure. Ya Boi Bron became one of the genre’s biggest names and Five40 Music Group’s premier star. Also in 2010, the label continued its success with releases by former Five40 members Jaymazin & Shawn Dinero (Hell's Kitchen Boys Vol. 1 & 2). In 2011, Five40 Music Group expands itself creating new departments such as Five40 Films, Five40 Staircase & Slick Graphics. From becoming "The Next Big Thing" to changing its motto and slogan to " - The Next Generation". Five40 Music Group as gain a lot of popularity in the west coast of the United States, South American & Asia. Til this day Five40 Music Group is still on it way to the top!
