Masaya, also known as Claudya, is a Chilean-born producer who has been a key figure in the Swiss electronic music scene since she started exploring clubs at the age of 15. Club, which launched her onto the Swiss and international stages. In 2005, she began producing her own music and founded Mina Records, with the
aim of providing a platform for emerging talent and remixes by artists such as Ripperton, Dave DK, Petar Dundov, Dana Ruh, and Sei A. The label’s mission was to introduce a more feminine and sensual touch to a male-dominated industry at the time. Mina Records became known for its diverse range of music, offering everything from tribal rhythms to hypnotic vocals and seductive atmospheres, catering to both dreamers and dancers alike. From 2010 to 2017, Masaya hosted the show "Atakama" on Couleur 3, one of Switzerland’s leading radio stations, where she showcased a wide spectrum of genres, from hip hop to electro-pop, dark techno, and house. In 2017, she released her debut album, "Picking of the Piece" on Chapter 24, featuring remixes by Ripperton, Petar Dundov, Johannes Brecht, and Patrice Baumel. This expanded her technique and led to live performances at events like Label Suisse and DJ Mag in London. After taking a brief break to focus on production, Masaya returned with a renewed vision, releasing her EP "Hey Kid" in collaboration with Ripperton. The EP included two tracks: "Can You Realize" and "Hey Kid," with versions from both Ripperton and Masaya. Her version of "Hey Kid" reached John Digweed, who purchased it and included it in the Fabric club compilation in London. Following an intense studio year in 2022, Masaya released her EP "Little Brother" on Bedrock Records and was also featured in the Quattro compilation with her track “Volar.” In 2024, she released her second EP, "Resilience", which includes four tracks now being played worldwide. John Digweed praised her work, stating, "In February, Claudia (Mina Records-Claudya) sent me a selection of demos. After listening multiple times, I couldn’t pick a favorite, so I signed all four. Claudia is an incredibly talented producer, with each track conveying a unique emotional depth." Masaya’s journey is just beginning. Her next EP is set for release on Biauralis in October 2024, featuring a remix by Quenum. She is also preparing her second album, expected in 2025. After a challenging year, Masaya took a much-needed break, but she returns stronger than ever and plans to resume her DJ career soon, with her first set scheduled for November 9th at Turnhalle in Bern.
