Introducing L’OFFICIEL’s June global cover star, Orlando Bloom! It’s been over 25 years since he first graced our screens in ‘The Lord of the Rings,’ which was followed by roles in bona fide blockbusters including the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise and ‘Kingdom of Heaven.’ The actor, though, has never been one to measure his own success in ticket sales. “I don’t think about box office,” he says. “In twenty years, I want to look back on my career and be proud of the characters I played, even if the film isn’t perfect.”
That intentional approach has now led Bloom to the world of independent film. This summer, he’ll star in the British comedy ‘Deep Cover,’ playing an improv actor who goes undercover to join a criminal gang. The part offered Bloom a chance to flex his comedy muscle, and he happily leaned into his funniest role yet. “I’m always Method,” he says.
