Calling All Supporters of Human Rights
Because of Jinnah’s and Gandhi’s politics, well over one million innocent Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and others were slaughtered in 1947 during the partition of India. Millions were uprooted and lost their homes. Partition separated blood relatives and tens of thousands of females were r***d and abducted. Such devastation took place that is rarely precedented in human history. With this partition, two enemy nations came into being and the Kashmir issue began, which resulted in bloodshed that still continues today. Because of the enmity that exists between Pakistan and India, huge sums of money have been spent on building arms, including a nuclear arsenal. And as a result, poverty remains at high levels.
What is surprising is that many human rights activists do not raise their voices against partition and its supporters, despite all the devastation and negative consequences that it caused. Instead, statues of Jinnah and Gandhi are being built, they are presented as heroes in books, and they are honored in different ways in the UK and other places. Moreover, the image of Allama Mashriqi, who warned of this destruction, is being distorted. This is a call to action to the human rights community to let the truth be known and to reduce the animosity that exists between Muslims and Hindus. This can help bring peace in the region.
