SOPHIE HOWELL (Script Supervisor for DEAD LAND) is a script supervisor, actress, & filmmaker from New Orleans.

It wasn’t until her move to Nashville last year that she discovered her love of script supervising. She has script supervised several Nashville short films and just returned from script supervising her first feature film, BIRD, in her home town New Orleans.

Sophie has been a huge horror film girlie since an early (perhaps too early) viewing of JEEPERS CREEPERS in the 4th grade but has never worked on a horror film before and is stoked to film DEAD LAND with this awesome crew.

Her favorite scary movie is HIGH TENSION!

WOW! Thank you to everyone who has not only financially contributed but also shared our fundraising link! We're so grateful for your support and can't believe we've hit our goal of $10,000!!!

The page will be live for a few more weeks, so if you feel inclined to help us reach our stretch goal of $13,000, there's still time! These additional funds raised will help us care for all 36 cast and crew members - both financially and with food.

We're overwhelmed with the talent and enthusiasm of the team that's come together and cannot wait to make DEAD LAND this summer.

TANIA MEJIA ("Mother") is a Latina actress with indigenous roots. She started her career in
1989, in Los Angeles. Life took her to Nashville, where she spent twenty-two years raising her children and working the Southeast market. Once she became
an empty nester she felt L.A. calling her back! Her latest project, IRON LUNG, a short film working opposite Veronica Falcon, will be showing at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival and is also going to Cannes.

Tania is honored to be joining the DEAD LAND team and is very excited to be going back to Nashville to work.

Her favorite scary movie is THE EXORCIST.

EMILY WATSON (Stunt/Body Double for DEAD LAND) is an actor and stunt performer based out of Nashville. Her most recent work SWIMMER was created for the 54th Film Fest, where she won best supporting actress.

Emily comes from the world of ballet and competition dance. She has over 16 years of ballet training and has always loved performing.

As an adult, she began training Muay Thai, a martial art originating from Thailand. Her 3+ years of Muay Thai training, coupled with her passion for acting, was the perfect combination to propel her into stunt work.

Her favorite scary movie is THE STRANGERS (2008).

JESSEJAMES LOCORRIERE ("Jason") is an American actor, an acting coach (), and a very proud father. He is best known for his work in “Ant-Man” (Disney), “The Walking Dead” (AMC), “Ozark” (Netflix), “Banshee” (Cinemax), and “Turn: Washington's Spies” (AMC).

In May 2024, he released an ultra lo-fi, shoe-gazey, self-titled batch of artsy, synth-driven songs under the recording name, “vnluv” (), and will soon appear alongside Nicole Kidman and Matthew Macfadyen in “Holland, Michigan”, an American thriller directed by for Amazon & MGM Studios.

Jessejames is thrilled to be working with MK and Mila again (see ) and the super creative team they’ve assembled for “Dead Land”.

His favorite scary movie is ALIEN.

MK KOPP ("Gina") is a multi-hyphenate filmmaker based in Nashville. Her first short film, SLIP, which she produced, co-starred, and co-wrote was named best short film semi-finalist in the Dumbo Film Festival. She released her second short film, IT'S NOT YOU, IT'S HER, in 2021. She co-wrote and produced it, and it premiered on Film Shortage and was an official selection of Retrospective of Jupiter and Think Shorts. In their review of the film, Indie Shorts Mag said MK played “her role with effortless charm.” In 2021, she sold the short film to Sony Pictures.

Her latest short film, , premiered at the 2023 .

MK is the founder of La Loba Films, writing and producing films centered around women.

Her favorite scary movie is MOTHER!

TAYLOR NOVAK ("Casey") is an actor from Nashville, TN who is a product of both the stage and screen. His most recent work, UNTITLED (WITHOUT SOUND), a short film composed of an entirely Nashville-based cast and crew in which he starred alongside acting legend John Schuck, was also his first official foray into producing for film, solidifying him as a multi-faceted filmmaker.

He is thrilled to join forces yet again alongside director Mila Vilaplana in what will be their third director/actor collaboration, and fourth project overall.

BENEATH THE VEIL / GLAUCUS - their first director/actor collaboration - will be available to watch soon.

His favorite scary movie is THE DESCENT.

Tabatha Gayle ("Gina") is an actor, writer, and theater creative based in NYC.

As an actor, Tabatha has been featured in The Gilded Age (HBO Max), Not Okay (Hulu), and Blue Bloods (CBS). Favorite theater credits include Bean (The Public Theater - EWG), The Bluest Eye (Virginia Stage Company, BroadwayWorld Winner for Best Play and Best Direction - Khanisha Foster), The House of the Negro Insane (CATF), The Black History Museum According to the United States of America (HERE Arts), and Our Country’s Good (Connecticut Repertory Theater). She is a member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA.

Tabatha is a Resident Artist with New Light Theater Project and the Resident Acting Company. She is also a Fellowship grantee and Visiting Artist with the Center For Hellenic Studies (Harvard University), and a 2024 Finalist for the Dramatist Guild National Fellows - Playwriting, and the Dramatist Guild National Fellows - Musical Theater.

Her favorite scary movie is CIRCLE.

RACHELL VALLORI ("Vanessa") is a Cuban born actress and model. She began studying theater at the age of 17, which ignited her love for acting.

Her repertoire includes Telemundo network projects such as “Corazon Valiente” and “Dueños del Paraiso”. Last year she was one of the leads in “Plantadas”, a period film about political prisoners un Cuba. It was proclaimed best film at the Miami Film Festival. She will soon be part of a rom-com called “The Love Advisor” which will be released on digital platforms.

Her favorite scary movie is Nightmare on Elm Street.

Introducing our Stills & BTS photographer, Sammy Hearn! Sammy leads every shoot with good energy, positive vibes and a whole lot of “yass” when she sees her clients through the lens. Photography is so much more to her than just pictures or even out of the box ideas. She has over 12 years of experience in photography, styling, storytelling, modeling, theater and acting – all ingredients that make any vision a colorful and engaging final product. Her background is in print journalism. She is also an adjunct professor at Nossi College of Art where she teaches Social Media, Location Lighting, and Success Strategies.

Her favorite horror movie is MIDSOMMAR!

Mark Brown (Producer for DEAD LAND) is a two-time Black List recommended screenwriter. His work has also been honored by The Academy Nicholl Fellowship, the Austin Film Festival, ScreenCraft, the Catalyst Content Festival, The Script Lab, and Indie Film Hustle. He has studied with the Stowe Story Labs, Sundance Collab, and the Catalyst Story Institute.

His favorite horror film is The Exorcist. "It set the standard. Still scary as f**k."

Introducing Sara Kiesling (Costume Designer for DEAD LAND)! A native Minnesotan, Sara has been making things & people look good within the entertainment world for over 20 years.

A full-time photographer since 2008, she quickly began taking on the role of styling for a lot of her clients. She grew up wearing her mom's clothes from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, but has an obsession with anything & everything 90s.

Sara's favorite scary movie is The Craft, obviously.
