With over a decade’s experience in the film industry, her work shines in numerous productions such as ‘Nairobi Half Life’, ‘Kina’, ‘Chaguo’, ‘Vanishing Vultures’, ‘ Pepeta’ and ‘Country Queen’ which have been shown on Netflix, M-Net and other global media platforms. The New Face of Salone is a documentary that follows the youngest cabinet in Africa and probably the world during their first week in Office.
On a continent where the median age in 19 and the median age of its leaders is 63, in Africa, young people have for so long been crying to be given the opportunity to lead.
In Sierra Leone, following a contentious election on June 2023, President Julius Maada Bio appointed the countries youngest and most diverse cabinet in the countries History. Placing young people in 80% of the governments strategic positions. The Chief Minister/Prime Minister, David Moinina Sengeh is only 36 and one of the world’s youngest Prime Minister.
Ms. Salima Bah, the Minister for Communication, Innovation and Technology is 32, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Development, Timothy Musa Kabba, the Minister for Agriculture and Food Security, Henry Musa Kpaka , the Minister for Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, the Minister for Technical and Higher Education Haja Ramatulai Wurie, PhD and many more were some of the young people, under 40, appointed to lead instrumental portfolios.
These young people, against the scepticism of giving youth powerful leadership roles, are faced with the challenge of removing their country from the bottom of the Global Development Index and shifting the negative narrative and stigma that surrounds it.

Around 30 million internally displaced persons, refugees and asylum-seekers live in Africa, representing almost one-third of the world’s refugee population.
Current emergencies : Millions of new displacements were recorded in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Central African Republic, South Sudan and Nigeria, triggered by increasing insecurity and human rights violations.
We urge the and other agencies such as to prioritize durable solutions for refugees and internally displaced persons across Africa.

If you’ve been following us for the last 4/5 years you’ll know of our tie and connection to Sudan.
We were one of the few media platforms to sneak into Sudan when it was still under the dictatorship of Omar Al-Bashir.
A few months after we left, the people went to the streets and deposed him, we were honoured to host some of the most vocal young leaders of that movement in our offices in Nairobi and to share in their excitement and hope for their country.
While we’ve been working behind the scenes to support a few individuals, this whole week, we’re going to be sharing important information about how YOU can all support the people of Sudan during this difficult time.

Dr. @lwidiko is a medical doctor and co-founder of @projekt_inspire_tz. A social enterprise that focuses on career guidance and inspiration for Tanzanian youth in STEM. What Africa Do You Want? Here at TAP, we are continuously striving to stimulate nuanced, vibrant, and dynamic conversations about Africa. Over the next months we want to use our platform as a space to engage Africa’s youth to voice ideas and opinions about “The Africa We Want” and the steps we need to take to get there. From education to pan-Africanism, trade to the creative industry, we want to hear your thoughts on what we need to work on as a continent. This digital campaign will run over our various platforms - Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, Facebook, and our website. Each month will have a theme that will lightly frame the discussion, anchored through the hashtag #TAPTheAfricaWeWant. We encourage you to share your views in whatever mode of expression makes sense to you. The month will end with a live discussion with an industry specialist.
