THE GLOBAL ANNUAL MAGAZINE FOR THE TRANCE COMMUNITY WILL BE PUBLISHED AT THE END OF FEBRUARY 2020
The psytrance scene has always been a global movement. When the first psychedelic sound missionaries in Goa set out to import this musical revolution into their home countries in the early nineties of the last century, they probably would not have dreamed that an almost global movement would emerge. In 2018, the Boom Festival counted visitors from 152 nations.
We launched the “Trancers Guide To The Galaxy” from mushroom magazine together with [email protected] in 2004 as a friend of the travelling PsyTrancer with a wealth of information about the history of local scenes, festivals, artists, art, politics, contacts, the best websites and travel info – all garnished with fantastic photos from the community’s international events.
Between 2004 and 2015, there were a total of 8 editions of this global travel guide as a magazine. In 2016 and 2017, the Trancers Guide was integrated into the summer editions of mushroom magazine. Over the years there have been numerous reports from more than 50 trance-infected countries! Since the last Trancers Guide a lot has happened! The Psytrance community has developed enormously, new festivals have emerged. So it’s time again for a worldwide Psytrance update!
The Trancers Guide had previously reported on these local scenes:
Australia, Austria, Argentina, Belgium, Bosnia, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, China, Chile, Columbia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Hungary, India, Israel, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Montenegro, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, USA, U.K. …
TRANCERS GUIDE FESTIVAL SPECIAL 2020
Now that mushroom magazine has been discontinued this summer 2019 after 25 years, there is no longer a print medium for the Psytrance community that focuses on our colourful festival culture. The Trancers Guide closes this gap for the coming year 2020 with a festival special edition. Due to the long preparation time it will be a comprehensive work with big and small fantastic events of our favorite community, many entertaining, informative and psychedelic news from the Psytrance metropolises and newly developed areas of the psychedelic map.
The annual magazine is already planned for the end of February. So early before the summer to give the readers an early introduction to the festival in 2020. The Trancers Guide will be launched next year with the highest circulation ever. Since there is no other magazine and the demand will be great, we will print 50,000 copies of the annual magazine. For the first time the Trancers Guide will be bilingual (German/English) and for the first time the focus will be on festivals, which we will give a lot of space to, because festivals are the focus of our worldwide community.
SOLIDARITY FOR MUSHROOM MAGAZINE
What many have already suspected and also known, but what we didn’t like to spread publicly, is the financial situation of the project “mushroom magazine” after 25 years of work for the scene. The production and distribution of the free international printed magazine cost a lot of money. You can finance a small open air festival per issue. The project “mushroom magazine” unfortunately ended a few tens of thousands of Euros in the red with the realization that a regular free issue for the psytrance world is unfortunately no longer affordable in Internet times. That’s why we are working hard on new contemporary projects for festival organizers, for example.
The Trancers Guide 2020 has therefore not only set itself the goal of becoming an informative, colourful, international, psychedelic annual magazine for the festivals of our favourite music. It will also be the magazine that will help the mushroom magazine team to overcome the financial disaster, so that we can launch Shroomies with new, ingenious projects for our scene.
We would therefore like to call on the entire Psytrance scene to support this project. If you would like to have your project presented in the Trancers Guide, please inform yourself about the regular conditions and the solidarity conditions. If you have the possibility to help the mushroom out of its financial difficulties, just contact us. After 25 years of work for the scene we are happy about every positive contribution of the community.
