I've been awake since yesterday. I need to make it to at least 9pm tonight so I can crash out and correct my sleep schedule.

I am so tired, but enjoy this premade cover.

Or grab it and use it for a book. That'd be really cool, just a super nice thing to do, for the both of us. Just a couple of nightmare friends, ya know? Pals out here just practicing to be sleep paralysis demons while we're human, right? That's what all this horror fiction is for, yeah? Just a couple of totally normal, no intent on horrifying anybody, respectable buddies that don't live for terror.

I don't normally delve into realism or sci-fi, because I like gritty, near-psychedelic vibes or minimalism when it comes to cover art.

Also, to pull this off, there's like 72 layers just on the arm and back of the main character. I mostly do stuff like this to test myself from time to time.

And hey, It's still looking for a home if there's any sci-fi writers out there.

This is a Sara Tantlinger appreciation post.

I can remember standing in the crowd with the other half of Rooster (Nicholas Day) and shedding a few happy tears when Sara accepted her Stoker award for The Devil's Dreamland.

It is probably the best highlight of running the company I've had so far.

I don't speak much about being a publisher on this platform because Sara and Nick are the real brains behind the operation. I'm just glad I get to pop in with some art and technical work to help complete a vision.

A new premade with a retro vibe.

I'm about to dig back into commissions but this weekend was a nice break away from regular work.

We dropped some trees on the property, my pops made a cool artifice to hold the chopped wood (will do a post about that later), I worked on some armor stuff that I do as a side project, and we managed to squeeze in a house party with the friends.

One day, you're twelve or thirteen and stumble across an Ed Lee book while on a trip with your family. Your brother blasts through the book in what seems like a couple hours and hands it to you.

"You gotta read this."

Years later, you're doing a commission for him and Madness Heart Press. Maybe time IS a flat circle?
