"Summer Day" is from the forthcoming album "balAnce". There are four season day tracks and I challenged collaborators to provide me with riffs from which I can make a track. Final track from the forthcoming EP Want My Old Life Back. It's an instrumental that reminds me of the country walk I make regularly where since late 2021 (when other Long Covid symptoms appeared) I get out of breath at the top of the inclines in the colder months. Never had the issue before then. Hope you like it.

New track "Telephones" from the forthcoming EP. It's a metaphor for tinnitus which became elevated in late 2021 after the Covid 19 Booster. The high pitch sounds you hear at the start, middle and end are synthesised versions of what I hear all the time. You learn to mange it and one of the best ways is to listen to music or, in my case, make it.

A strong supporter of the Silent Gratitude project is Hershey Bell who played guitar on Page 42 (Yesterday's News) and has just released two EP's - please check them out at the links below. It's clearly EP time because a little birdie tells me SG will be releasing one too later in the month :-)

 On March 31, 1992 Bruce Springsteen released two albums simultaneously - Human Touch and Lucky Town. That always stuck with me. Fast forward 32 years to March 31, 2024 and I released two EPs (not as ambitious, but similar state of mind) - Troubled By Love and Colton Bay.

Its been quiet for a while because the production of the forthcoming album "The Singularity's Coming" has been pretty full on. It's now been mastered by Ian Sheperd and will be released on 1 Jan 24. Sorry it's been a while since my last post. I have been busy producing the latest Season3 EP "1984". I entered a Home Studio Recording Magazine competition in 1983 titled 1984 and I wrote a 10 minute track with 5 themes based on George Orwell's book "Nineteen Eight-Four". One day I promised myself I would expand the track into an EP and here we are 38 years later!

Thanks to Benhlms Music for a fabulous master.

I have also just started a 12 month Masters Degree in Songwriting & Music Production so there should be plenty of new and hopefully much better music to come in 2022.

After the release of our last album Alexa! Pour Me A Gin I took some time out to recharge the batteries.

Back now and raring to go and here is the latest Season3 news:

1. Have been accepted onto a full time Masters Degree course in Songwriting & Music Production starting in January; so a challenging but hopefully rewarding year ahead.

2. The Home Studio Corner VIP challenge this month was to make a Carbon Copy of a track to practice listening and sound design skills. After the success of our cover of Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence" earlier this year there was only one track to do! (https://youtu.be/Sk-0lQncqyg) Thanks to Benhlms Music for vocals and mastering. Not 100% copy but overall very happy and hope you like it.

3. Started work on an EP reworking a 10 minute track competition entry titled "1984" (based on the book) that I wrote in 1983 into 5 tracks.

A while back I was asked if I would make a video on how I produced my synths. So I recorded the making of "Thunder Clouds" from the last album "Alexa! Pour me A Gin". Then I realised there were no synths on that track! DOH!
So the video ended up as a "How I currently produce my music" - hope you find it interesting and please add any questions/comments on YouTube and I'll answer each one.

Have just mixed the last track on "Alexa! Pour Me A Gin" and if all sounds OK tomorrow it will be off to my trusted mastering engineer Ben at Benhlms Music to add the magic fairy dust.

I am so pleased with the way this album has turned out. Stephanie, Katie and Jill sang Jill's wonderful lyrics and can't wait to release it at the end of the month/early August. Here is a sneak preview of the CD Inlay Card...

Work on the "Alexa, Pour Me A Gin" album progresses slowly but now that lockdown is being eased we hope to gain some momentum recording the vocals very soon.

In the meantime over on Home Studio Corner we were challenged this month to do a cover version. I wanted to practice my orchestral skills so enlisted the help of Jill for vocals and linked below in the comments is Enjoy the Silence (Depeche Mode) - Season3 cover. Hope you like it?

Several of the collaborators on Season3's last album "Memorization" are VIP members of Home Studio Corner, where there are monthly challenges to push you as a music producer and great opportunities to collaborate with some great people.

So this month I became a member and the monthly challenge was a mix of a Rock/Blues number. I have linked below in the comments my mix and in the YouTube description are further details.

Season3's next album "Alexa, Pour Me A Gin" has been temporarily delayed due to a family bereavement but recording should be underway soon to hopefully complete the album in May.

Quick update and hope you are keeping well. The next Season3 album called "Alexa, Pour Me A Gin" is underway. It's ambient/chillout planned with 3 instrumentals and 6 songs.

Two of the instrumentals are mixed and two of the songs are ready for final vocals. It's very different to Memorization but pleased with the way its sounding so far.

Been busy since the release of Memorization by entering a competition to rescore a wonderful short animated film. Subscribers to the Season3 YouTube channel will know I have previously scored to a slide show or set videos to Season3 music but this is the first score to film.
