Congratulations to Bhutanese writers, Kunzang Choden ( also Riyang's founder ) and Rinzin Rinzin on receiving the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation or SAARC Literature Award last week at New Delhi in India.

Two Bhutanese writers, Dr Rinzin Rinzin and Kunzang Choden received the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation or SAARC Literature Award last week at New Delhi in India.
This is the first time Bhutan has brought home the award and is regarded as a milestone in Bhutanese literature.

Along with two of them, the award was also presented to Bangladesh’s first President, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and five other writers from India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

The Foundation of SAARC Writers and Literature or FOSWAL, a non-profit organization presents the award. It aims to preserve and promote the literary heritage of the region and foster cultural exchange between the countries.
