I've picked up some books at thrift stores this winter that are now on my summer reading list. I tend to be all over the place with fiction, non-fiction, sci-fi, sports, etc. Continuing with my multiple personality reading, the first two books I'll be diving into this summer are:

This book was recommended to me several years ago and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I also read What If? Part 2.

Here's one of the ideas I've been kicking around in my head for a future book. Since I've been taking road trips around the country for the past 25+ years, I would like to do a book about some of the wonderful quirky roadside attractions you see in the USA. From the Jolly Green Giant Statue in Blue Earth Minnesota, to Louisville Slugger Baseball Bat in Louisville, KY. I thought it would be fun to put together a collection of these relics. Some of them I visited over the years ago are no longer standing. What are some of your favorite roadside attractions in your region?

If you enjoyed the documentary Co***ne Cowboys by Billy Corben, this is an absolute must read! It's simply incredible the life and connections Jon Roberts had during his life. A friend and I were discussing books recently. She was asking for recommendations for a new book to read. I remembered this true story of Dawn Schiller. I read this about 10-12 years ago. If you're familiar with the story of the Wonderland Murders, or seen the movie Wonderland starring Val Kilmer who plays John Holmes; this book is written by Dawn Schiller who was John Holmes' teenage "girlfriend". portrayed by Kate Bosworth in the movie.
A very powerful story about Dawn Schuller's escape and survival from an extremely abusive life.
