Update on budget highlights !!

Key Allocations in FY 2024/25 Budget:

1. Education:
Total Allocation: Kshs. 659.5 billion (27.5% of the budget)
- HELB: Kshs. 36.31 billion
- Ongoing university projects: Kshs. 4.3 billion
- Conversion of serving interns and hiring of new ones: Kshs. 17.9 billion
-University Funding Model: Kshs. 25.5 billion
-School Feeding Programme: Kshs. 3 billion
- TVETs capitation and projects: Kshs. 30.68 billion
- Capitation for free Primary Education: Kshs. 9.1 billion
- Capitation for free Day Secondary Education: Kshs. 61.8 billion…
- Capitation for JSS: Kshs. 30.6 billion

2. Health:
- Rolling out the UHC under the BETA plan - Kshs. 13.8 billion.
- Primary Health Care Fund: Kshs. 8.1 billion
- Emergency, Chronic, and Critical Illness: Kshs. 2.0 billion
- Provision of intern doctors: Kshs. 3.7 billion

3. Agriculture:
- Total Allocation: Kshs. 48.23 billion
- Cherry Coffee Revolving Fund: Kshs. 2 billion
- Fertilizer Subsidy: Kshs. 10 billion
- Sugar reforms: Kshs. 1.7 billion
- New KCC: Kshs. 2.25 billion

4. Livestock:
- Total Allocation: Kshs. 12.32 billion
- Livestock restocking: Kshs. 1 billion
- Milk Coolers: Kshs. 500 million
- Milk Factory in Narok: Kshs. 250 million
- Mopping up skins and hides : Kshs. 200 million

5. Irrigation:
- Total Allocation: Kshs. 23.4 billion
- Galana Kulalu irrigation project: Kshs. 1 billion

6. Water:
- Total Allocation:Kshs. 52.4 billion

7. Energy:
- Total Allocation:Kshs. 69.6 billion
- Last mile connectivity:Kshs. 14.5 billion

8. Roads:
- Total Allocation:Kshs. 199.4 billion
- Recurrent expenditure: Kshs. 72.2 billion
- Development expenditure: Kshs. 127.2 billion

9. Trade and Industry:
- County Integrated Agro-Industrial Parks: Kshs. 4.6 billion
- Flagship Export Processing Zone Hubs: Kshs. 1.86 billion

10. Security sector

- Sh173.1b allocation for the security sector;
-Sh110.6b for the National Police Service,
-Sh46.3 for NIS, Sh32.7b for the Prisons D
