Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.
And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word.
But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me."
And Jesus answered and said to her,
"Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.
But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her." Luke-10:38
SIA IOTEK FENGEN (let’s pray together)
Gracious Father, in the quiet sanctuary of Your presence, I seek a transformed vision—one that beholds the world through the lens of Your love and wisdom. Grant me the serenity to accept the thorns that accompany my journey, recognizing in them the potential for growth and beauty. May I trust in Your sovereign hand, knowing that Your plans are higher than my own, and Your ways surpass my understanding.
In the trials I face, let Your grace be my sustenance, my strength, and my song. Teach me to bloom in the midst of adversity, that my life might exude the sweet fragrance of trust and perseverance. For every thorn that pierces, let there be a blossoming of faith, a deeper root in the soil of Your love.
In the precious name of Jesus Christ, my Redeemer and my Rock, I offer this prayer. Amen.
In the quiet moments of struggle, when our hearts are burdened with the weight of life's persistent thorns, we often cry out for relief. Yet, in those very trials that seem to linger despite our fervent prayers, we are cradled within the hands of a purposeful Creator. It is in this wilderness of our journey that our faith is both tested and fortified, and our trust in the Divine is called to deepen.
Consider the rose—a symbol of beauty and love, an emblem of balance between delicate petals and protective thorns. Amidst the thorns, its bloom is not diminished but rather accentuated, teaching us that the most exquisite beauty often coexists with pain. This juxtaposition is not a flaw in design but a testament to resilience, a reminder that even in the presence of suffering, grace abounds.
The Apostle Paul, too, spoke of a thorn, a messenger of hardship that clung to him despite his pleas for its removal. It was in this unyielding discomfort that he discovered a profound truth: God's grace is not merely sufficient; it is abundant, overflowing, and precisely calibrated for our moments of greatest need.
So let us take heart and bloom where we are planted, knowing that our thorns are but temporary guardians, shaping us for the splendor that is to unfold. In the embrace of the Almighty, we find the strength to flourish, our lives a fragrant offering, a testament to the One who uses all things for good
🌸Dealing with Difficult People🌸
In dealing with difficult people, we must guard against pride.
Paul in Romans 12:3: “For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you” (also Philippians 2:3–4).
So, when we know we must deal with a difficult person, we approach the situation in meekness. Love is also key: “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Galatians 5:14).
We are to show God’s love to everyone, including difficult people!
Proverbs provides much wisdom in dealing with difficult people. Proverbs 12:16 promotes patience in relationships: “A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.”
â€â€Proverbs 20:3 “It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.”
†Proverbs 10:12 encourages love: ““Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.”
†Proverbs 17:14 “The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.“
If possible, it might be best to make sure to choose your friends carefully and wisely.
Proverbs‬ â€22:24-25
“Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.”
â€â€While dealing with difficult people may be unavoidable, we must be sure not to respond in the flesh! Self control my friends, self control ❤️
I don’t know who needs to hear this and it might ruffle you or change you if you let it but, the reason why you keep going through things in life is because you’re not fully dedicating yourself to The Lord. Part of Matthew 6:24 says, “You cannot serve two masters,” meaning you cannot serve this world and God. It’s time to change what you know is wrong and not pleasing to God’s eye, and step into what is right. Remember, God sees and knows EVERYTHING. He sees you getting high, he sees you cussing every chance you get, he sees you being rude and mean, he sees you saying, I want to get closer to The Lord but I’ma do it around this time… putting him on the back burner… Part of Joshua 24:15 says, “Choose this day whom you will serve, but as for me and my house, we will serve The Lord.”
Proverbs 18:21 states, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof". This verse suggests that words can be used as tools for good or evil, to build up or tear down, and to inspire or discourage.
Proverbs 12:6 says that words have the power to destroy and build up, and Proverbs 12:18 says that words can cut like a knife if spoken without thinking.
Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you.
Psalm 143:8a
Some people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing.
Proverbs 12:18
‼️ For the wages of sin is Death, BUT THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD‼️
Jesus turned around & when he saw her he said "Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well." And the woman was healed....
Matt. 9:22
O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me, I will be truly saved. My praises are for you alone!
Jeremiah 17:14
He...called the 12 disciples over to him and said "Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else."
Mark 9:35
But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Acts 2:21
From a wise mind comes wise speech; the words of the wise are persuasive.
Proverbs 16:23
May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor....
Num. 6:24-26
God treated me with undeserved grace and let me become an expert builder. I laid a foundation on which others have built.
1 Corinthians 3:10a
But we must each be careful how we build, because Christ is the only foundation.
1 Corinthians 3:10b-11
I don’t know who needs to hear this but, it’s time to repent of your sins. It’s time to truly walk in Christ. Reading your Bible, forgive, only having love coming out of your mouth, patience, praying for others genuinely, being slow to anger, being kind, going to church, getting a prayer journal, changing your old ways to be like Christ. It’s time. You got this! 🤍🤍🤍
”So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
