I attempted to compile the best music of 2005 by aggregating many different magazine, blog, website, and critics' year-end best-of lists into a single best-of-the-best CD. Unsatisfied with that already overly ambitious project, I made another mix of my own favorites from the year. The two-disc compilation proved so popular, it has now become an eagerly-awaited annual tradition.
