Six years ago I launched my debut novel, Eucalyptus Goth, at Brisbane's Netherworld arcade bar. It was the culmination of a lot of work, research, and trips down memory lane. I'd been published before - as far back as 1997, in fact - in various tomes. Only a couple of years prior I'd had a story included in an anthology dedicated to the world of Clive Barker, but with Eucalyptus Goth I finally had a tale to call my own.
And then Richard Dalziel came along. Pronounced "dee-ell", or "D-L". He charged through several horror anthologies by Steve Dillon, carving for himself a future in what would become the collection The Dalziel Files. The final story and novella in length in this collection is Masala Nightmares, a story I initially began writing way back in 2006, about the choices we make for fame and fortune and the consequence that can have for those without a voice.
Halloween is nearly upon us, and if tales of vampires and werewolves and ghosts are your thing, then perhaps consider clicking the link below and joining Dalziel on his quest for redemption as he trots the globe, pursued by the denizens of darkness.
