Our trip to the United Kingdom came to an end yesterday. I thank our people for warmly welcoming and receiving us in record numbers.
We spent time at the British Parliament meeting with senior legislators, prominent members of the current British administration, and influential figures in the business world. I also had a rare opportunity to address several members of the House of Commons about the political situation in Uganda, and reiterated our call for action.
I was encouraged to learn that most of them are already familiar with the human rights violations and the suffocation of democracy back home. If civilized countries of the world recognize that Uganda is being ruled by an illegitimate military regime, surely they should take steps to further isolate it for continuing to impose itself on our people and violating their rights with impunity.
I'm very grateful to the leadership of our Chapter in the United Kingdom for the time and effort invested in organizing these strategic engagements aimed at fostering freedom and democracy in Uganda. # J vybez international
