Supercells will merge into a line of thunderstorms and move through the area tonight. Primary threat is for destructive wind gusts. The tornado risk will be highest in the west with discrete storms, but will still exist with the line as it moves east. The largest hail is expected along and west of I-49.

Let’s make sure we all have a plan in place for tonight! I know it’s the holiday weekend people will be at the lake and out and about! But have ways to get to safety and have a shelter plan in place before this thing hits tonight! We will be up all night toll the storms move out we will ne working with other teams for this storm!

The national weather service has issued a tornado watch for Bates county Missouri until 10 PM tonight. Storms expected to hit between 3 and 5 PM. We will be keeping a close eye on radar.

This was posted by our fire, chief of Butler these are the storm shelters that will be open in case of an emergency take note. Be prepared. Last look at radar storms look to be hitting Bates county around midnight. There is a slight chance of tornadoes these tornadoes could spin up quickly without any kind of radar detection usually will be on the ground before radar can pick them up, main threat will be straight line winds!

I’ve been getting quite a few messages asking if Bates County is under a tornado watch as of now the national weather service has not issued any kind of tornado watch or severe thunderstorm, watch or warning for Bates county we will be keeping an eye on the storm the rest of the night and I will be keeping everyone updated as best as possible!
