June 9, 2022: Food security advocates visited Brgy. Tinang, Concepcion, Tarlac for a solidarity mission to support the agrarian reform beneficiaries when police came down to the area and disrupted their peaceful collective farming. Concepcion police harassed and unlawfully arrested 92 people, a majority of which are peasant advocates from different mass organizations and cultural alliances such as SAKA, ARPAK, RUWA, UMA, CAP, ANAKBAYAN, and others. Volunteers were forced to spend the night outside the precinct and sleep on ripped garbage bags as they awaited release. Some of them have had their mugshots and fingerprints taken.
45 volunteers from SAKA and ARPAK are being illegally detained in the Concepcion precinct, while the police seek to file sham cases against them. They could be facing a large bail if the police push through with their cases. We are calling for donations to fund the legal fight against this clear offense to human rights.
You may send your donations through BPI and GCash. For more details, message SAKA’s page, on Twitter, and on Instagram..

Kahit a little ambag helps.
If the millions of Filipinos contribute even a piso, we can free these innocent farmers while simultaneously petitioning for their rights, and fighting against their unlawful arrest
(shame on the Concepcion police and incoming Mayor🤬).
Let's keep the for-justice-and-energy flowing, moving, and growing.
