Overnight travelers – there will be single-, double- and TRIPLE-lane closures overnight on the inner loop I-695 beginning at I-70 on 7/8. This is expected to occur every night through August. Crews will move in a northerly direction to I-83, then turn around to do the outer loop I-695. The multiple lane closures are necessary to install lane markings to shift traffic as part of the Baltimore Beltway project that will eventually allow drivers to use shoulders as travel lanes during peak drive times on I-695. The Baltimore County Police Department is aware of a photo being circulated on social media that has generated questions about the whereabouts of 6-year-old Marcel Traore prior to being reported missing this morning. Below are details that address the timeline of events.

At approximately 2:50 a.m., a resident called 911 to report a child in the road. An officer searched the area and successfully reunited the child with family members around 3:30 a.m.

Just before 7 a.m., family members contacted police to report the child missing. This led to a large response by the Baltimore County Police Department and Fire Department, who conducted a search of the area and located the child in the water. The child was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Final Update 3:45pm. Baltimore County Police have confirmed that 6 year old Marcel Traoren has succumbed to his injuries. Rest in Peace young man.

At approximately 11:30am, emergency crews located the missing 6 year old Marcel Traoren in the water of Lynch Cove in Dundalk.

The child was transported to Bayview with critical injuries. We will update you when police release more information

EIGHT JUVENILES AND ONE 18-YEAR-OLD TAKEN INTO CUSTODY FOLLOWING A SERIES OF CRIMES IN THE TOWSON & PARKVILLE PRECINCTS

Baltimore County detectives have taken eight juveniles and one 18-year-old into custody following a series of crimes that occurred last week in the Baltimore County Police Department’s Towson and Parkville Precincts. Detectives have identified three separate groups of teens responsible for committing these crimes which include carjacking, robbery and burglary.

Detectives have taken four juveniles into custody for committing two armed carjackings on May 10, 2024. Additional investigations are pending.

CRIMES:
May 10 - 7700 Block Harford Road - Armed Carjacking
May 10 - 1000 Block York Road - Armed Carjacking

SUSPECTS:
17-year-old female - Waived to adult court
13-year-old male - Placed by DJS
14-year-old female - Placed by DJS
15-year-old female - Placed by DJS

As those carjackings were being investigated, an adult and two juveniles were arrested for repeatedly burglarizing a local business located at 1040 York Road.

CRIMES:
May 7 - 1040 York Road - Burglary
May 11 - 1040 York Road - Burglary

SUSPECTS:
18-year-old male - Keyon Addison
16-year-old male - Not placed by DJS
17-year-old male - Not placed by DJS (2 burglaries)

In addition, officers took two 14-year-old suspects into custody following a reported robbery that occurred on an MTA bus in the area of York Road and Chesapeake Avenue, 21286, at approximately 8:30 p.m. on May 10.
