The vicious cycle of addiction. Alcohol loves to steal your Dopamine reserves. Eventually damaging your brain’s dopamine receptors. This leaves the addict feeling terrible after they come down from being intoxicated. Then the addict seeks more alcohol or drugs just to feel better or normal. I never knew that this sh*tty feeling was the effects of my dopamine levels being manipulated by my DOC. Smh😡
If this is you, try to get help today. You are not alone and this addiction is a brain disease and allergy. For addicts, our brains turn on to the addiction and it is very difficult to turn that signal off. We are born different. I was always allergic. This is me giving you the memo. By the time I received this memo, it was almost too late. You have been served. 😁😁

Spirituality and Addiction The Origins of AA (Roland H meets Dr. Carl Jung)
Welcome to the Sober is Dope Podcast with your host, POP Buchanan. This episode looks at the origins of Alcoholics Anonymous, and the legendary encounter with Dr. Carl Jung, and American Businessman “Roland H.” This encounter sheds light on the Vital Spiritual Experienced mentioned in AA, and the need for Spirituality in the recovery process.
“The origins of Alcoholics Anonymous can be traced to the Oxford Group, a religious movement popular in the United States and Europe in the early 20th century. Members of the Oxford Group practiced a formula of self-improvement by performing self-inventory, admitting wrongs, making amends, using prayer and meditation, and carrying the message to others. The Oxford Group was a non-secular organization and promoted religious and spiritual ideas amongst its members. Founded by an American Christian missionary, Frank Buchman, who promoted the idea of surrendering one’s life over to God’s plan. This idea is central to the 12-step program adopted by Alcoholics Anonymous.” - Friends of Bill and Bob
Rowland Hazard III visits Swiss Psychoanalyst Carl Jung
In 1932, a prominent Rhode Islander, Rowland H., visited the noted Swiss psychoanalyst Carl Jung for help with his alcoholism. Jung determined that Rowland’s case was medically hopeless and that he could only find relief through a vital spiritual experience. Jung directed him to the Oxford Group.
