Look what we are going to do!
An exploration of the non-professional arts to keep your soul alive! Join us and find out how to “doodle in the margins,” and how to fit participating in the arts into your life, viewed through the lens of puppetry. This evening starts with a lively discussion about the ways we as a society look at and value the arts– and how we can grow as artists whether or not we are asking ourselves “how do I make my living from this?”.
Celebrate how puppetry works so well as a framework for art practice as it encompasses so many aspects of the arts, and enjoy a primer on storytelling, show creation, and puppet-building materials and processes as well. We’ll build some simple puppets, have some time to play, and be led through some “performance 101.” Participants will head home with a list of resources, solid basics, and an inspiration to keep the creativity flowing.
