🚨 What to expect from this week's test of the national emergency alert systems 🚨

The key thing to know, of course, is that — as the alerts will say — this is just a TEST. No need to panic or take any action.

The systems are designed to allow the government to reach hundreds of millions of people in the U.S. right away if there is a disaster affecting the entire country.

FEMA and the FCC are behind this coordinated test.

While rates are getting a 'breather' after 11 hikes since March of last year, the cost of borrowing money is still at its highest level in 22 years.

Of course, higher interest rates make it more expensive for Americans to take out loans like mortgages and to carry credit card debt.

This all goes back to inflation as the central bank hopes tries to tame inflation by lowering demand for purchases like homes and cars --- without pushing the economy into a recession...

An American Airlines pilot helped find 9-year-old Valentina’s American Girl doll named Beatrice, who got separated during a family trip through Tokyo, Japan.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When the doll was first lost, the girl’s parents contacted the airport they flew out of, and the airline, but no one could find Beatrice. So, they posted about it online, and pretty soon, word got to first officer Jim Danen.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He’s a pilot who actually lives pretty close to Valentina and her family and regularly flies to Tokyo.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It took two separate visits to the airport lost and found, but he discovered the doll, scooped her up, and took pictures of the doll on her journey home.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Valentina thanked her new pilot friend and asked whether Beatrice had been well-behaved on the flight. (She had).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Her parents are incredibly grateful, and they said this is just another sign there’s a lot of kindness still left in the world.

Nearly 13,000 workers hit the picket lines shortly after midnight Friday in targeted work stoppages at plants in Michigan, Ohio and Missouri.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That said, while the strike is unprecedented, it’s actually smaller than expected a couple of days ago. IF all 145,000 UAW members at the three companies would have gone on strike, that would have been the nation’s largest strike of active workers in 25 years.

Still, leaders on both sides have publicly alleged their counterparts across the table weren’t taking talks seriously.
