Our Co-host Tana Lepule of PICSD spoke right on the matter with his opening remarks, “Pacific Islanders are not hard to reach, they are hardly reached.” This being the First Inaugural Pacific Islander Listening Session for CA was a breakthrough for our PI communities of San Diego. We’re too often overlooked, underserved, unheard and ignored. To be in a space where our voices matter, we are heard, and where our respective pacific islander communities are seen, this is the season for better change.
